He has been practicing dentistry for over 35 years. After graduating from the USC School of Dentistry in 1982, he continued his specialty training at USC for an additional two years to become a periodontist, a specialist that deals with the treatment of the diseases associated with the gums and bones - the foundation of a healthy smile. Dr. Chu was a clinical assistant professor for the department of periodontology at USC and an assistant professor at Loma Linda where he taught at the graduate and post-graduate levels.
Through continuing education courses to stay current with the latest techniques, he offers patients the latest in bone grafts and dental implant procedures. This has helped many of his patients restore their smile and function to levels that were not possible with their traditional dentures. Because of his gentle and compassionate touch, many of Dr. Chu's patients drive hundreds of miles to be treated by him.
