Dr. Paul Harry Deutsch, MD

I had a visit today 5/18/23 the young lady whom was filling out my medical forms was not professional. As I explained my medical condition I was having, she caught humor smiling like it was funny. She turned her back as if I couldn’t see but I saw from the side of her face and as she went toward the sink. If she was a patient and was treated like that I’m sure she would not like it. She was very insensitive to a patients medical issues. I would not like to deal with this young lady ever again going to this office. I don’t understand how she felt that was acceptable. I’ve never had an issue during any of my visits till today. The main reason I go to that office is because Dr Deutsch listens to my concern, shows compassion and not rudeness. I wanted to say something to him but I didn’t want to make myself get more upset. If I could rate just her I would rate absolutely zero. My rating is against her ONLY. She don’t belong in a medical office.

Dr. Deutsch has been named in the past by Connecticut Magazine as a TOP DOC for women. I can understand why. He is very compassionate. He is a very good listener and offers advice that is right on the money. He also has a great sense of humor.

I am in the Navy and have been stationed in many parts of the country. Dr. Deutsch is one of the best!

If Dr. Deutch,would not look down on women and treat them the same as his Male patients. Eye contact and listening to a patient is important. Hard to obtain a good Dr. Pt report when he looks down at the floor and barely listens. Seems to think he knows it all,when he really does not. Poor listening skills and compassion for female pts. Part of being a good Dr. Is listening and diagnosing due to those findings. Not just educated guessing. He may be intelligent,but a failure in getting a good report with female patients. When treating a pt the larger picture needs to be seen rather than bits and pieces. Dr. Deutsch is very narrow minded and will not take the blinders off to see the whole person. He needs to be more punctual,not make pts wait excessive times. Maybe,we should charge him for our time. He is totally anti narcotic pain medication. Some people are allergic to NSAIDS and can not take them for pain control. That only leaves narcotics. As stated on a Backus web page. "Tapering… a patient who is actually benefitting from a pain medication is poor clinical practice and can potentially be malpractice,because as pain is decreased, function increases and the persons quit of life improves." According to Dr. Deutsch everyone is a drug seeker or addict. His way of dealing with pain is to get pts off addictive pain medications that work and decrease their function that has increased. Giving pts a better increase function,and a better quality of life. Is that not what the Dr.should be striving to do? In this case I would say no. He does not care if ones quality of life is increased as pain is decreased. Very sad that he has that vision on this topic and others. If Dr. Paul Harry Deutch listened,formed a report with his female pts as his Male pts,he would be a great Dr. E has not accomplished this in 30 years,so why would he start now? He won't and never will. Feel so sad for some of his patients who are affraid to be assertive towards him and stand up for their rights. Some just are not aware of what good medical care is. That went out in the days,when Dr's still did home visits. Yes,times have changed and so has medicine,but the good reputation has gotten lost along the way. At the cost of pts quality of medical care. Medical care has decreased as costs for care are increased.

Listens carefully. Doesn't stop till he figures out what is wrong with you. Named a TOP DOC by many different surveys which is well deserved !!!!

Worst Doctor Ever!!!! Run, stay away, find someone else! Do not got to this doctor every for anything!

Dr. Deutsch is the best doctor. He takes the time to listen to you and will return calls anytime. I would highly recommend him!!

Dr. Deutsch is the most caring, kind physician I've had. I've been his patient for the last 15 years and would never go to another primary care. He has a great bedside manner and will spend as much time with you as needed!

I feel like he is not very comfortable with women. I know many men who see him and they say he is good and he helps with their medical needs. Every time went there , I would wait for a long time, feel like the staff are rude and I was rushed once he came in. Nothing is explained, there is no exam, he spends like 1 min and then gives me a former to have procedures done that are unessasary, and that insurance doesn't end up covering. My medical issue was not being taken care of. The staff seem annoyed when you need an appt and questions are not answered. Maybe he likes to treat males more than females. I wouldn't recommend females going there.if you want to pay 150 to be told to take tylenol or ibrurophen that is what you are told.
