Dr. Paul J Donovan, DO

I met Dr. Donovan in the Bennington ER after sustaining a very painful running injury. I have a complex chronic heart condition as well so I've been to ER's several times in my life and most of the time I'm not treated well and end up in tears. For this reason, I was very hesitant and anxious about going in even though I couldn't move my leg, was in severe pain, and knew I needed medical help. The ER was very crowded while I was there with several serious cases, but my case was not at all minimized or trivialized. Although my X-ray looked okay, Dr. Donovan advised me that there could still be a fracture and to see an orthopedist. I subsequently did and he was correct. I had a stress fracture of my femoral neck which is a somewhat rare and serious injury that he mentioned and suggested could be a possibility. I'm glad that I went in and for once got appropriate accurate advice from an ER when I needed it!!
