Dr. Paul Carter Ezell

Following my cataract surgery, Dr. Ezell gave me his personal cell phone number with the instruction that if I had any questions or need to talk with him. he could be reached by phone. His routine exams are very thorough, include checking also for glaucoma, night driving and vision ability. As a Senior patient, I appreciated his care and feel badly about losing a good doctor.

In my 50 years of wearing glasses, Dr. Ezell was the first to accurately refract my eyes and to give me the best eyeglass prescription I ever had. Every other ophthalmologist I ever used before him made my prescription too strong, even objects at infinity strained my eyes. I am near-sighted. He performed cataract surgery on my wife's eyes and came into his office on a Saturday to see her when she had a minor problem. He also gave her his home and cell numbers in case she had to reach him. His bedside manner is excellent. He is soft-spoken, and listened to us when we had any questions. He always answered our questions to our complete satisfaction.

I was referred to Dr. Ezell by my family physician because of some vision problems. He diagnosed me with cataracts in my left eye and sent me to see another doctor to be certain of the condition of my macula. That doctor gave me a clean bill, but discovered the beginning of cataracts in the other eye as well. Dr. Ezell operated on both eyes (separate dates). I found him to be compassionate, caring, and above all else, he explained everything to me step by step. I was partially awake for the first procedure and he talked to me throughout about what he was doing and what each step of the surgery would do for me. Afterward, he even gave my wife his personal cell phone number with instructions to call him day or night if there were any problems at all. I still see him periodically almost two years later as part of my follow-up. I can't say enough about this Doctor, especially in an age where Doctors have become businessmen before healers, Paul Ezell still understands the true tenets of… his profession.
