I had a total right knee replacement august of 2023. Knee stayed swollen the whole time. Each visit I was told it could take up to one year or more for swelling to go away. Never no blood work ever was done or suggested. Very disappointed in that. So I went on my own for a second opinion at EmergeOrtho in Smithfield and they did blood work which showed inflammation in the blood. Then they drew fluid from knee and it came back showing infection in knee. Had to have right knee removed on 1/31/25 which came back has a staff infection in knee. Antibiotic knee spacer installed with a piccline placed in arm for 2 months of infusion antibiotics to get rid of staff infection that had been in my knee for over a year. On 4/11/25 they installed my new knee. I have had to pay for all this myself with no help from Greenlaw or Greenlaws office. If he had of had bloodwork done originally, he would have saw infection and could have got me antibiotic to hopefully would have gotten rid of infection.… Very disappointed in Greenlaw, his facility and hospital in new bern. I am not recommending him for anything else ever. I have started medical malpractice lawsuit against him and hospital

I was recommended to Dr Greenlaw by a friend who had seen him. At my appointment, I was diagnosed with a Baker's Cyst. He gave me a cortisone shot and told me to call back if I was not better in two weeks and then we'd schedule an MRI. It took me over TWO weeks to schedule an MRI as he did not put what he told me in his notes but stated that I had arthritis and should be on a schedule for cortisone injections until I was ready for a knee replacement! I have NEVER had problems with this knee and was shocked that what was written in my patient notes was not what happened. After the MRI, I was informed that nothing could be done for me until I was ready for a knee replacement! I asked about the Baker's Cyst and was told by his nurse that he doesn't deal with those and only does knee replacements!!! If so, why didn't he tell me this at the time of my first visit and refer me to someone in the practice that could help me at that time????? Instead, I had to wait until I returned from… vacation (which was difficult due to my knee) to get the MRI results only to find out that I'd wasted my time. This may not be malpractice, but this certainly is negligence and indicates his lack of integrity and professionalism. Seems like he was only in it for the $$$ he could get for the knee replacement!!! I have been to this practice before and received superior treatment from another physician. That is one reason that I traveled from Greenville to seek the help of Dr. Greenlaw.

The most important review criteria are the ned results and Dr. Greenlaw gave me two fantastic new knees that have changed my life. It's 6-months since full replacements of both knees and I'm walking two- miles a day. Everything about my experience from the initial visit to follow-up has been excellent.

Not enough space for the amount of stars he and his PA deserves

Dr Greenlaw replaced my left knee, I had no pain. Was out of work for 2 1-2 days. Yes, not even 3 days. I have stumped my toe, with more pain than I had with the knee replaced. He is going to replace the right knee next year.

Had hip replacement and partial knee replacement. Dr. Greenlaw is the best. I highly recommend him!

I had bilateral knee replacement surgery. Dr. Greenlaw is awesome.

Had bi-lateral knee replacesments 10 months ago! If I had to do it again Dr Greenlaw would be my surgeon again!! Wonderful Dr and PA is great too!
