He helps my pain so much. My hero.

I saw him for a short time as a Pain Management Doctor. He has no compassion, does not own up to prescribing wrong medication. Does not return calls from Answering Service, pharmacist or insurance companies or patient. No "bedside or office " manners. Talks down to you like you are a convicted drug addict. Had allergic reactions to medications and he said I was making it up. No one is allegeric to this medication. New doctor verified I was allergic to the medication. Needs to stick with Anesthesiology were his patients are not concious around him. Moses Cone has a fantastic Pain Management Doctor in the building beside of Harkins save yourself a few steps and see a real pain management professional.

dr. harkins is not professional. he allows his asst. sarah desai and staff to be disrespectful and rude to patients. false statements and accusations are common with this practice. It is truly pitiful and sad. This is suppose to be a health care provider but that is impossible when they won't listen to what the patient is going through.

I was very nervous going in; he and his staff told me ways that I could help my nervousness (ie valium beforehand, IV sedation...) and were warm and supportive at my procedure. The followup visit with his PA and her nurse were likewise both informative and comforting, and a followup appointment for a short time afterward was made on the spot at a mutually convenient time. High marks. I saw Dr. Harkins because Dr. Elsner, a neurosurgeon in the same office whom I trust literally with my life, referred me.

Got better as we continued our visit i was upset because of wait time but than after the amount of time spent with me explained the long wsit.

My opinion of Dr Harkins not that it matters is that he is a very good and caring doctor. True he does come on a little strong but once you get to know him he is as good a doctor as you will find. Have had several procedures for back pain and each time he is more concerned not to mention his staff that go out of there way to take care of you. Also has one of the best PA's I have delt with Dr Sarah Ferebee. Recommend this group highly . As with any Dr they might not tell you what you want to here... MB

I can't praise Dr. Harkins and his staff enough for how professional and hard working his "Team" is...Office is spotless, and the staff is spotless, and very professional, and they always call you back, and Dr, Harkins and "his entire team of 5 members" working together to maintain your health as if it was their own. Dr Harkins is a brilliant doctor, and best doctor I have ever had. He is the doctor in charge when Neurosurgeons cannot put "you together", like Humpty Dumpty fell off the wall and when all the Neurosurgeons fail to put Humpty Dumpty back together again, they send Humpty Dumpty to "Dr. Harkins" to be put back together....Dr. Harkins knows he can fix what other surgeons fail to fix, and rolls up his sleeves, gets to it and his team is hands on assisting him!....I crawled in a Neurosurgeons office in pain for 8 months and crawled out still in pain but, I crawled in Dr, Harkins office and walked out!.....Free of pain and Dr, Harkins takes as much time as needed to answer… any and all of your questions......Best doctor I ever had and I highly recommend him to anyone! Dr, Harkins looks at all your records, your MRI's, even X-ray, everything in your file, he studies it well to access your needs and he rolls up his sleeves, and he and his Team get right to the root of your problem.....If your like Humpty Dumpty and doctors have failed to fix you, I highly recommend you go see Dr, Harkins and his Team, you won't be disappointed! I just want to take the time to warn anyone considering Dr. Harkins for pain management that this is the most heartless, self-serving, rude, man I have ever met. He treat you like a statistic and not a person. He has never felt pain, nor does her understand people that have chronic pain. He laughs at you and makes a joke of your condition. When I told him my medication was not working well, he simply told me to just stop taking it and did not offer a solution. He cursed at me and my mother during our visits and told us that four of my past doctors were all wrong in their treatment of me and cursed them as well. Vey unprofessional. If you need a Doctor, please reconsider seeing this one for your own sake. And I did not exaggerate any of this, it is all true! Beware of Dr. Harkins!
