Dr. Paul Bernard Kaplowitz, MD

One of the worst doctors that I ever saw regarding my thyroid problem as a child. I do not recommend wasting your money on seeing this guy. He never listed to my symptoms and as a result I suffered horribly as a child with severe leg pain, loss of hair, depression, and I slept constantly. I have had this condition for 20 years now and have found the elimination diet extremely beneficial in pin pointing triggering foods. If only I had known this 20 years ago when I was a child.

A horrible, rude Dr. No empathy at all for my son's problem. Very arrogant.

He has such a bad temper and treated my son in a very denigrating manner (my son has learning differences). I am not sure about the treatment he provided but I had no other options at that time. I really regret taking my son to this "Dr".

He was very disrespectable to our son and showed no concern at all for his problems. He was very rude to our son and treated him poorly. He would not even listen to our opinion. A very rude, horrible Dr.

Dr. Kaplowitz does not have a good bedside manner. He does not want to hear opinions that differ from his. My son is a teenager and he spoke directly to my son. I made sure to not interpose unless I thought it was absolutely necessary. He is a very intelligent man, his approach is all from one perspective. He is very abrupt, direct and rude but I think he is a very good doctor.

He wasn't "warm and fuzzy" but was very knowledgeable and helpful. He was able to spot a problem that another endo had missed and we finally had answers to questions that we have been searching for years. He spent a great deal of time with us explaining the condition and gave us information in an understandable way and with all the facts. He was everything we had hoped for in a doctor. I personally will leave warm and fuzzy for my daughters teacher and smart and knowledgeable for her doctors!

Very rude with horrible bedside manner and so hateful. Loves to hear himself talk, interrupted me and the other Doctor in the room. Would not let me finish my sentences when he asked a question. Asked me to keep a log of my son's BG and then told me I should not be doing this, When I reminded him that he was the one who asked for me to do this he seemed flustered and angry. Very strange, angry man.

He does not know how to speak to children and he is doctor at reputed hospital. He snapped/barked, and in a loud voice angrily responded when my son asked a question related to something he said. I wish we did not have doctor like him in Children's Hospital.

I was surprised to see the negative review here. We had our first appointment with Dr. Kaplowitz last week, and everyone was extremely kind. Dr. Kaplowitz took the time to answer all of our questions and even gave us a minibiochemistry lesson so we could better understand how our son's disorder might affect him. We also had labs drawn and the nurse was very good. Overall, it was an excellent experience.
