Dr. Paul John Kerns, MD

Dr. Kerns is an awesome Doctor, had him as my doctor since 2017.

i should have read these reviews more thoroughly before i set up my appointment with this so called health care provider. thanks for the 5 minutes of your time, thanks for absolutely NO guidance, no answers, and the worst bedside manner i’ve ever experienced in my life. Dr Kerns should get out of this field, he clearly doesn’t care about his patients health.

I brought my young adult daughter in to treat her debilitating pain and heavy bleeding every month. He told her that young women just don’t have good pain tolerance and that she will need to learn to muscle through and deal with it for the next thirty years. Wouldn’t entertain trying to uncover why and prescribed a bc option and told her even if the side effects are bad he wouldn’t switch them until she had tried them for six months. She was in tears over how badly her belittle her by the time we left. We are switching to a different doctor. I’d stay away unless you like being talked down to.

Ignored my concerns and left me crying through the entire appointment. He was pushing to do the opposite of what I was comfortable with and made me feel like i was a bother

I have never been treated so poorly by a physician. Dr Kerns was belittling and arrogant, I had to fight back tears during my appointment.

I would not recommend this doctor to my worst enemy. I went to Dr. Paul Kerns for a Paragard IUD. He was short and very cold. He acted like he didn’t have time for me throughout the entire appointment and was very rushed. He caused me tremendous unnecessary pain by dilating me when he did not need to, he couldn’t answer my questions, and ended up placing my IUD incorrectly. When I went back for my follow up appointment to check the placement, he was in such a rush that he said it was in the right place without even looking and then had to do a double take to see that it had moved down to the very bottom of my uterus. Because it was in the wrong place it needed to be taken out, however, he refused to do it without me contacting my insurance and making another 100-mile trip back to his office to have it removed. I went to a different doctor and had it removed and replaced. When I told her what Dr. Kerns did to me she told me that none of that was necessary. Now, 2 months later I receive… a bill from Dr. Kerns saying that I owe for the removal of my IUD because he documented that he took it out even though he did not. I would know if he did. It has been a battle with his office and my insurance to get the bill and my medical records straightened out. Still not fixed. Long story short, DO NOT GO TO DR. KERNS.

I’ve been with Kerns for three years and every appointment I feel rushed, he comes in in a timely matter but I feel like he’s in the actual room for three minutes and if you don’t have questions he doesn’t offer much information except “it’s a waiting game” or “well your pregnant” I understand a lot of symptoms are from pregnancy but a explanation occasionally would be nice. I had two children with him and I would never recommend him.

Dr. Kerns is very intelligent and has amazing ability to communicate information.
