Dr. Paul E. Later, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Later for a couple of years regarding chronic migraines. He has helped me manage my migraines successfully and continues to try to further optimize his treatment approach as ew medications become available. He takes his time to understand whether any of my symptoms changed. I can highly recommend Dr. Later for treatment of migraines.

Dr. Later has gotten poor reviews, and I can really understand why! He is arrogant and stand-offish, and did not resolve my issues. He sent me home with ineffective resolutions and instructions. I don’t understand how someone employs him with the cavalier attitude he demonstrates towards his patients!

Gotta say this guy really does not like to be questioned about anything. If you want to learn more about his findings and wanted to know more about your diagnosis , be prepared for him to rip into you about what ever floats into his misogynistic little head. Horrible one on one. Which really sucks because hes the only person that has been able to get close to the right spot for shots in my head for migraines. Ive been dealing with the pain again because I just dont feel like being degraded as less than a human being again.

I recently saw Dr. Later at Lake Forest Hospital, he was very patient and gave me a lot of valuable information.

Dr. Later is a terrible doctor. He is condescending, loses his patience and doesn't listen. He came up with a quick diagnosis, later to find out that he was incorrect about many other components. He barely did an exam, and was not comfortable in doing so. He ordered labs, but did not even discuss why and what he was drawing. If he had taken the time to xray or scan me, as I suggested, he would have been able to get a full picture. There are many wonderful doctors and practitioners out there- avoid this doctor at all costs.

We have grown to really like Dr. Later. At first we weren't sure, as he could certainly have more empathy. He does a great job of getting right down to it, and giving you the facts. He will ask lots of questions, answer them, and explain things in detail that are easy to understand. We have never waited longer than 5 minutes and never feel rushed (because appointments are during the day?). Our experience with Dr. Later has been great, and he is a good doctor if you are looking for someone to be straight forward, honest, and informative.

I became a patient of Dr. Later in 2017. I had suffered in pain for many years with being bounced from doctor to doctor. After seeing Dr. Later the first time, he knew exactly what was going on with me. He took over 90 minutes in evaluating and answering questions and laying out a treatment plan. I am doing great under his care. I am so thankful I found him!

I met with Dr Later this morning for a 10:00 am appointment. I showed up 10 minutes early and filled out the insurance forms and at 10:00 his nursed took me in a room and finalized the patient info in an examining room. I waited about 5 minutes and met Dr.Later. We went over my charts from my previous doctor who retired. Dr later was very thorough . He asked me many questions in an a temp to gain my information. He was very informative on my condition (MS) and gave me hope for a very good future. I would recommend DR Later to anyone who is looking for a Doctor who listens, thinks out loud, includes you in his ideas on moving forward. A great morning!

Paul E Later was the worst experience of our life.He is the rudest person imaniable, does not listen at all, and does not treat people as humans at all,people are much nicer to their pats than he is to people who seek medical attention. I can't understand that he is actually a doctor. My husband had an appointment with him today,and we will never go back,I should of read his reviews beforebefore we went.I've never written a review in my life,but I'm so upset and stressed out that I had to share our experience.
