Dr. Paul Le, MD

I would leave 0 stars if possible, negative stars if I could. This doctor was the worse medical experience I’ve had in my life, he made me feel stupid, like an idiot and blatantly disrespected me my entire visit. Extremely bad bed side manners, I’ve read other TERRIBLE reviews about him. DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC OR DOCTOR

So bad it was almost comical. I have ADHD but the Internet had said Dr. Le genuinely wanted to get to know his patients so I guess that I figured I could be detailed about the wide array of ailments that I suffer from. Not so. Dr. Le was raising his voice and accusing me of drug seeking behavior within 10 minutes tops. His lack of empathy and/or compassion was amazing! I’ve never experienced this level of self absorption in my 60 years. And anger. From a caregiver. I have ataxia, which is a speech impediment, so perhaps he overlooked this on my intake info sheet and thought that I was intoxicated, but, regardless, he certainly made incorrect assumptions about me quite quickly and treated me with great disdain. I left the appointment wondering why he had entered this field as he displayed no desire whatsoever to truly understand what was going on with me, or to help me. In his defense, I did notice one person (out of three) in the waiting room as I exited his office who was displaying… what looked to be narcotic withdrawal symptoms and I would imagine that, with the opioid crisis, he does encounter this a lot, nevertheless this was certainly not the case with me and I would warn anyone suffering from chronic pain to stay away from him. He appeared to have no interest whatsoever in figuring out how he might help me.

Absolutely no sympathy or respect for a suffering patient! Didn't DO anything for months besides some halfhearted injections and medication, then decided to stop giving me medication (the only thing keeping me able to work at all) and just told me "Just get a different job. Or if it is really so hard, get on disability." There aren't going to be any jobs better suited for my pain. Sitting in chairs for long periods hurts more than standing. And getting on disability is a many-years and very difficult process. He blatantly told me that the reason I couldn't walk without pain was my own fault for not walking enough to begin with. Even though I was INCREDIBLY PHYSICALLY ACTIVE through the initial pain until it became too unsafe to go on walks. He also told me that it was my own fault I weighed so much because 'no dietician will tell you losing weight is impossible' No. Technically not impossible. But with intense pain AND a hormonal problem that caused me to gain weight at… SEVERAL POUNDS A WEEK for some time, which I could not have PHYSICALLY EATEN ENOUGH CALORIES FOR... yeah no, not an easy task. Probably the worst doctor I've ever had, and that's saying something.

Dr. Le was very concerned about my condition. I have fibromyalgia. I discussed with Dr Le the Ketamine infusion therapy. He was also concerned about the medication that I was currently taking. His office staff were friendly and scheduled the Ketamine infusion therapy sessions.

Dr. Le Paul H is self absorbed and straight to the point. He will diagnosis you in the first 10 seconds of meeting him, possibly before getting to shake his hand. I've been dealing with chronic pain for almost five years and he turned me away in a seconds notice. I've been seeing a psychiatrist for over 4 years and his brilliant diagnosis is that I have anxiety. Just so you are all aware my psychiatrist referred me to this clinic because anxiety medication does not treat pain. I've tried numerous treatments, this is the first time I've ever seen a pain clinic for my pain due to it being unbearable. I pleaded with Dr Paul tried to go over my medical records and he refused to treat me he did not give a direct reason why he refused to treat me I would avoid this clinic or possibly just this doctor.

As a post-polio syndrome patient, having tried every means of pain attenuation, and having been on varying large dosed of ms contin and morhine sulphate for over 4 years, I was surprised that he terminated me as a patient because of me response to his query of how I was. I responded...how should I feel on the 32nd day of 30 day prescriptions that were for smaller amounts than what was used to control my pain previously. I then said I felt lousy. He took offense at my comment and released me as a patient with no pain attenuation. Until you've experienced the challenges of polio and the successive pain, it's a little hard to judge. In all fairness, I have yet to find a doctor in the Austin area that has any experience with survivors of polio. For general info, I am 63 and was paralyzed by the polio virus 3 months after Salk invented his vaccine. There was no noticeable residual paralysis and I have lived a very physically active and rewarding life until pain attacked me at about… 50. It's been over 3 days since that appt. so imagine how I might feel with no pain attenuation and what ever withdrawal effects accompany the cessation.
