Dr. Paul David Matz, MD

Competent, but --Abrupt; quickly in and out; doesn't listen; seems not really to care.

My wife and I are new to the community and I needed a new physician.

Dr. Matz did not seem to care about my condition. It seemed like he was a run of the mill operation, No change in care or diagnosis. I tried to talk with him about my ongoing symptoms and he would be rather curt with me 'that's just the aging process' was his remark for most of my concerns. I really felt he was not interested in me as a patient. I waited over 45 mins in the patient room and then he only spent about 7 mins with me. He spent more time looking at the computer than looking at me, eye to eye. I am so disappointed. Never will go back.

I call him The Wonder Healer; he accurately diagnosed my headaches and got me referred to a Neuro ASAP. Dr. Matz gave me my life back. And he's a super nice man!

Dr. Matz is very good at educating you about the body and health. He also doesn't give you un necessary tests because he doesn't want it to cost you more then it should. However, he does a lot of the talking interrupts a lot. I didn't feel very listened to or cared about.

this guy is not accurate and how dare you refer to others that have seen him as needing more time and some how are idiots. it has been five and a half years since my auto accident and he thought I was faking it. I broke my neck, tore a ligament in my hip , broke my back and I sat there and watched him smerk at me like I am trying to get one over on my auto insurance. it is because of him that my auto insurance denied me my due coverage. it took me $20,000 of my own money to treatment and try to get my insurance to pay my bills. this guy is a joke. along with todd winter at the same practice railroaded me. I collapsed on the floor when todd winter was examining he walked out the door and said my back was fine. are you kidding me. both of them are jerks.

Over prescribes medication and does not follow up with patient well being.

I can understand why someone who needs a lot of nurturing and time from their doctor would not be happy with Dr. Matz's bedside manner-as he is direct and doesn't waste time (efficient and effective). However, after 10+ years with Matz as my primary, I have learned that I'd rather have a doctor who is accurate and an excellent diagnostician who won't over prescribe drugs or tests and resolves my medical concerns quickly. He is very intelligent, accurate, listens to me, works in partnership with me, and actually IS a nice guy, who has taken time to know me on a personal level. I would recommend him to anyone who has any on-going or complicated medical needs. He has an impressive medical background and is an overall excellent physician.

Not the social type, however, he gets to the point quickly and efficiently. I am on pain management and have never been treated like an addict. Sure he wants you to check in from time to time- that's what they are supposed to do!

The clinic is lovely- the staff are pleasant and helpful, the waiting area is a little crowded but not bad. Dr. Matz, on the other hand, was not terribly interested in hearing about my symptoms or their progressions and generally acted as though my appointment was an unwelcome intrusion into his day. I'm looking for another doctor, one who at least pretends concern and shows some willingness to make me a party to my own care.
