Dr. Paul Henry Mayo, MD

This is a follow up to my previous post about Dr. Mayo. My sister was a patient of his at Long Island Jewish Hospital in PCU and ICU. Because of her age (73) she was considered from the beginning expendable. I was diagnosed shortly after her death with advanced TB. My sister who had the same symptoms and was left undiagnosed and untreated for TB at LIJ obviously died of the contragious disease at ICU. The incompetence of Dr. Mayo and his interns is unexcusable and has put many people including other patents and staff at risk. This kind of behavior is both unacceptable and very risky.

Dr. Paul Mayo's lack of supervision of his staff directly led to the death of my sister. I believe his license should be revoked because of what transpired. Beware of the Pulmonary Department at Long Island Jewish Hospital. It is time that Dr. Mayo takes accountability for the actions of his interns in particular.

Paul Mayo is tops in his field, his only problem is allowing others less qualified to treat his paitent, harming the paitent both physicaly and mentally, when he had the authority to prevent the actions in the first place.He could have done much better. A year later the paitent is still suffering the affects of his non action.
