Dr. Paul Nyirjesy, MD

Dr Nyirjesy is the only doctor whose treatment helped relieve my symptoms after suffering for several years. I hope I can continue treatment with him elsewhere after the Drexel Medicine practice closes.

If you haven't found answers anywhere else to a chronic problem, go see Dr. Nyirjesy. I feel so lucky that I moved to Philadelphia and found him. For 10 years I was told I "probably had a mild yeast infection" every time I went to see a doctor for my pain, but test results always came back negative. I don't believe I would have had children if not for him, and honestly would have probably been celibate by now. He helped me have the improvement and confidence to have vaginal deliveries and helped me recover from each after two botched revisions from my OB made things worse (not sure why I didn't think to go to him for my revision but I had delivered with a different practice due to capitation with my PCP the first time). He is so easy to talk to and so compassionate. I can't say enough great things. If you read this, Dr. Nyirjesy, THANK YOU!

I have been a patient of Dr. Nyirjesy for a year now and he has been treating me successfully after having diagnosed me with vulvodynia, lichen sclerosis and pelvic floor dysfunction (severe muscle spasm). At my first consultation with him, he thoroughly examined me and then interviewed me to determine the right treatment plan. At the time I felt that he understood my pain and he gave me hope. I was impressed with how thorough he evaluated me and gained clarity on the symptoms I was experiencing, as he was very familiar and clear with the diagnoses and treatment plan. Each time I have seen him, I have been treated with excellent care by the staff, and Dr. Nyirjesy amazes me each time with his incredible bedside manner. Dr. Nyirjesy is warm, friendly and very patient. As he checked me he would explain every step of what he was about to do,to put me at ease. After each visit he would meet with me in his office to explain his impressions of how I’m progressing and would explain the… course of treatment that he recommended. Dr. Nyirjesy always was patient in explaining or answering any questions I had.

3 GYN AND 2 URO AND 10 MONTHS OF PAIN NO DIAGNOSIS. RECURRING BLADDER INFECTIONS INFLAMED VAGINA, ULCERS ON LABIA AND CONSTANT BURNING. BIOPSIES NEG , BACTERIA SEEN BUT CULTURES NEG REPEATEDLY. 1 RX ACTUALLY CREATED TEARS IN THE LABIA. DOZENS OF RX TRIED( HOMEOPATHIC AND REGULAR). WITHIN 1 MONTH OF SEEING DR NYIRJESY "RELIEF" AND AN ALMOST PERFECT VAGINA! WENT FROM PAINFUL PEDIATRIC SPECULUM EXAM TO A NORMAL NON PAINFUL EXAM.GOD BLESS HIM

After 3 years of not being able to have intercourse because of extreme pain, Dr. Nyirjesy solved the problem - which several other doctors could not do. I am about to turn 60, and I had resigned myself to "that is the way it is." His treatment has given me this part of my life back, and I am very grateful. Some reviewers have complained about the long wait for an appointment. No doubt that is true, but it is so worth it. After my first appointment, I might have agreed a little with some people who complained about bedside manner, but I did not feel that coolness at all during my second appointment. I think I was feeling nervous myself during the first appointment, and he was just fairly matter of fact about his suggested treatment. My second appointment was today, and I found him warm and quite lovely. Go see him. Your sex life is worth it!

He is one of few physicians in the country who specializes in vulvovaginal issues. We need more providers in this specialty! I was honestly a mess and in a lot of pain when I initially saw him almost 2 years ago. I had gyn telling me one thing and dermatologist telling me another and I was ultimately I think being overtreated and chasing the issue in circles. Long story short within 48 hours of doing what he told me I was feeling 80% better. Thereafter I have been on a regimen that works and I have my life back. I cant thank him or the person who referred me to him enough. He is thorough in his examination and answers all my questions afterward at each visit. As a medical provider myself, it is evident to me he also keeps up on all things current in his field and is very passionate about and dedicated to his work. His MAs and staff have all been very professional and kind as well. I would recommend them to all my friends if I lived closer. That's another thing that should be noted is… that I drive 2+ hours to see him because it is worth it. I am sorry his center will be closing due to hospital ownership changes but happy to hear he will still be practicing as I know he helps so many women.

I had a year of extreme pain. I went from doctor to doctor with no relief. I was depressed and struggling to get rid of this constant pain that was interfering with my life. I had take an appointment with Katherine Smith who was working with Dr. Nrjesy because i could be seen 2 months earlier. They worked together and were able to give me an accurate diagnosis and give me my life back. I could not be more grateful to him and the team. It is worth the wait!

Dr. Nyirjesy resolved my issues. I had seen 2 other gynecologists who were unable to do so. Dr. Nyirjesy is kind, caring and committed to fully working with his patients. His expertise is unparalleled. He even follows through after an appointment. He meets with his patients after an exam to discuss his findings and allots all the time needed to inform and to answer questions. One could not ask for a better physician!!!

Seems to know his stuff though my condition has yet to improve. Horrible bedside manner for dealing with such personal medical issues. I am going to switch to another doctor, as inconsistently leave feeling less hope.

I saw Dr.Nyirjesy after having vaginal issues for 1 year. I am a physician and somewhat frustrated with my condition. It was hard to get an appointment but the office manager helped me to be able to see him. It was sure a wait but worth it. Some questions were very personal but he warned me and my husband about them. He met us in his office , then examined me and met us afterwards and explained things. He did nor order un-neccasry tests , new exactly what he was doing and I will 100% better. Do recommend him strongly.
