Very professional and caring

As a medical professional at the Assisted Living I would like to add my appreciation to Dr. Padyk and RN Bryan for the care and attention given to the previously mentioned resident and his family. Being able to spend his last hours comfortable and appropriately cared for was invaluable. Your desire to do the right thing was much appreciated.

My stepdad was transported to St.Mary’s ER. His wish was to not have prolonged life treatment and I was in the position of up holding his wish as his POA. I was there alone and emotionally not prepared to make a decision. I was blessed to have Dr. Padyk as our attending physician that night. Through my tears and inability to be able to reach my stepdads physician for support Dr. Padyk helped me see that it was a discussion I wasn’t making it was one my stepdad made I was only following his request from earlier. The next obstacle was that the Hospital Case Manager was Now telling me that I need to return my stepdad to the Assisted Living community he came from in very poor shape as they could keep him in the hospital if they were not treating him for anything. Again with tears in my eyes a lump in my throat our attending RN Bryan and Dr. Padyk had my stepdad admitted that evening and he passed away early in the morning with comfort measures in place. I was not alone with Dr. Padyk by my… side letting me know I was doing the right thing. I truly felt blessed to have Dr. Padyk in staff that night. Compassion and empathy for myself and my stepdad was heart felt... thank you Dr.Padyk for everything you did for us both that night.
