Prior to my son receiving 11 lumbar punctures for intrathecal chemo treatments, Parsons did a lumbar spine series and with the impression: negative lumbar spine. The 11 lumbar punctures were painful, and when my son continued to complain of intense pain, another series was done 3.5 months later. The diagnosis: "congenital" spinal stenosis with degenerate disc disease and disc desiccation, bulging and disc protrusion with annular fissure. All has been confirmed by additional testing. In that 3.5 month period my son lay in a hospital bed receiving high-dose chemo. All of this existed when Parsons read the series, so he either blew it off, or didn't look closely (?) or whatever. The damage from so many lumbar punctures, both physically and emotionally when my son's complaints of pain were dismissed, is inexcusable. Maybe if Parsons or any of his staff or the hospital's had followed up with the family, they'd have discovered that spinal stenosis is a genetic trait we share.
