Dr. Paul Stephen Richard, MD

Dr. Richard is serious about his work, definitely straight to the point. Dr. Richard showed me on the MRI script of my procedure that was going to help and explained in detail what he needed to do for me. Definitely refreshing to have someone that doesn’t beat around the bush two thumbs up for Dr. Richard

I got a CT Scan for an unrelated injury, and Dr. Richard’s office recommended that I have an MRI for my neck, even though I was not experiencing any pain. I saw Dr. Richard to discuss my MRI, and he strongly stated that I needed to have invasive ACDF spine surgery as soon as possible. He said that I was taking a risk of becoming paralyzed with a slip or fall. While I was still in a state of shock, he had his staff come into the room to schedule surgery. Due to its serious nature, I had 3 other neurosurgeons look at my MRI. Without knowing Dr. Richard's diagnosis, each independently said that I do NOT need surgery! In fact, I do not need any follow up unless I start to experience symptoms. If you do see Dr. Richard, I highly recommend that you get a 2nd opinion!!!

Wish I could give 0 stars....Was absolutely rude from the moment he walked through the door. Was advised over multiple phone calls and while checking in that I was there to see Sergio. When he walked through the door I gave a very friendly "you must be Sergio" in which he promptly shut me down with a curt "No! I am Dr (Reechard) what are you doing here?" It only got worse from there with his condescending and holier than though attitude. In trying to discuss my lifestyle I made the comment of being busy with two children under 10 home. His response......."I am busy too with three children at home. What's your point?" He never really discussed with me the reason I was there, as he was not interested in that but rather what my diet was. If you want caring and compassion while trying to get a better understanding in your health journey then stay far away from this man. If you want to be treated like you are less than, then this is the man for you! I have never left a DR's office so mad.

Dr. Richard is the rudest doctor or even person, I've ever met!!!

My family member was hospitalized and Dr. Paul Richard was his doctor. He is arrogant, didn't answer questions or address concerns. Needs to get rid of his god-like persona.

At first Dr Richard was very cold .. But he’s a great Dr looks out for me ! Who could ask for more ? He’s very smart!! And now he’s warm and friendly…

Dr Richard is a talented and personable physician. Tried to go beyond his own area of expertise to be helpful. So happy I found him.

Was living with pain management for about 15 years for lower back pain, went and saw Dr. Richard he evaluated me did surgery August 14th, released yesterday now I am totally pain free, he is an amazing surgeon. Would definitely use him again.

Dr. Richard was very thorough in my treatment. He was an excellent doctor. He’s not in it for the dollars he’s in it to help people he would not do my surgery till I got my diabetes A1c down because he was concerned about infection and other problems which she was absolutely correct on I finally got it down Was able to do the surgery. It’s three months now I’m walking without pain. I’m getting up in the morning without having to be hunched over. My spine is straighter than it ever has been fused to my bones three different sections. He is an excellent surgeon and I would recommend him to anyone.
