Dr. Paul Sachs, MD

Dr. Paul Sachs was recommended by my trusted and respected primary care doctor. From the beginning, I found I was being treated as a data point rather than a human being. After weeks of inaction and worsening breathing issues, he finally ignored my allergy and asthma history, symptoms and lab results and condescendingly declared a diagnosis of COPD that would only worsen and for which nothing could be done. I could be SERVICED (his term) by his nurse practitioner going forward. I was summarily dismissed with no treatment, medication, prescription or hope, but still unable to breathe easily. Ten days later I collapsed at work with respiratory failure, and spent the next eight days in the ICU and pulmonary units of St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport being treated for the serious lung infection that Dr. Sachs missed. If you are looking for competent pulmonary care, look elsewhere. This emperor has no clothes.

Misdiagnosed me

I first was referred to Dr Sachs more than a decade back when I was found to have a condition manifesting itself in my lungs which was detected during an unrelated treatment. Within 48 hours of our first contact he performed a bronchoscopy and biopsies on lung tissue from which I was diagnosed with sarcoidosis. Dr Sachs initially gave me a thorough understanding of the condition and effectively managed my care. I continue to see Dr. Sachs every couple years for ongoing monitoring for any reoccurrence. Over the years he has shown first rate medical skills and has patiently answers my many questions. I could not ask for anything more in a doctor and would recommend his without hesitation.

I slept for 8 hours straight for the first time in years because of the new asthma medication Dr. Sachs prescribed for me yesterday. My breathing has improved tremendously. Thank you so much Dr. Sachs.
