Dr. Paul William Santoro, DO

This gentlemen is a " hospitalist" meaning he cares for patients in the hospital since most primary care doctors in Attleboro no longer over see the care of patients when hospitalized . That's just the way things are now.I just feel this guy wasn't a great physician , never had answers to questions or the answers were vague or downright sensless. I'm a Nurse Practitioner of many years, and my daughter is a physician.Thus physician just didn't know his stuff I felt. I told my own primary care physian I'd be wary of returning to Sturdy Memorial Hospital again. and I'd decline to have Dr. Santoro if ever I am admitted again . Sturdy hospital's standards all around seemed to have lessened. The attention I received seemed to be less than I'm used to. I've been going to Sturdy for almost 20 years., All staff from the MD's to the Rn's to the Aides, Food workers , everyone seems so unhappy and rushed and stressed. I was admitted for 4 days and this was my observation everyday. It's too bad.… Sturdy used to be excellent. I hope my observations are just a fluke.

This Dr. Santoro, cared for my wife during recent stays at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. He was "assigned", to oversee her hospitalization since many area physicians, including hers, no longer care for their patients while they are in the hospital . Not our choice, but that's the way it is. Having said that, this Dr. Santoro seemed to have a poor medical aptitude, completely dumbfounded with any question I or my wife presented to him. Bedside manor is appalling, he acted like a high school drop out. I've never had a bad experience at Sturdy Hospital in the ten years we've gone there. I will refuse this guy if he is ever assigned to oversee care of anyone in my family that is admitted to Sturdy. It was a shame. If this is a sign of Medicare cuts and Obama care, heaven help us.
