I have PVNS, and have started on Gleevec first which didn’t work for me my tumors didn’t shrink so we switched to Tasigna and after only being on it s week Then off of it for a week in a half due to breast surgery he decides he would increase it to 800, my body couldn’t handle it and my liver enzymes started to climb not high but they steadily climb and instead of trying to make me feel better he said “ oh you look worse than what the blood work shows” like really!! I am 32 years old and couldn’t get through a shower without feeling like I was going to collapse! Then he was like well all my other patients do good it must have been because of the Anastasia from surgery ummm no I didn’t start back the Tasigna until a week later! He was just rude and I felt like he dosent care about my well-being

When we got a second opinion from DUKE, 4 pathologists came to the same conclusion independent of each other. When he saw the conclusion stated that oncologist at Duke had been in field for about 7 years and when he gets 20 years under his belt then he would consider it. Duke sent tumor sample to Brigham Womens in Ma. Concurred with the findings at Duke. Then he believed. My wife is dead! Cancer in brain which he didn't know about. Win some lose some I guess.

Dr Savage was a life saver to me.He answered all my questions honestly and always went the extra mile for me and I trusted him with my life and it has been eleven years that I am cancer free!!!!

Dr. Savage took time to explain the history of my cancer and what I could expect. He then went into detail about my particular treatment. He scheduled all necessary tests asap to insure prompt beginning of my treatment. He was very personable and very caring. I immediately liked him and feel that I am blessed to have him for my doctor.
