As an ex nurse and 15 year pt of Dr. Stoufflet I can attest to his professional demeanor and caring attitude towards his family of patients. It's very rare to find a Dr who really listens and trusts his patients. His referrals have also saved my life twice. As I age I pray he out lives me! Sincerely, Kurt Standiford

I love this doctor. However, it’s near impossible to get through by phone to even schedule an appointment. The answering service answers 95% of my calls, during business hours. After seeing him 20 years, I’m thinking it’s time to change:

I'll start with the positive: all of my routine medical care with Dr. Stoufflet in 2010 was fine. He was friendly, and I have no reason to think he wasn't competent. The bad part is a little more complicated: In 2010, in college, Dr. Stoufflet prescribed me the generic for Adderall and later for Ritalin. I had come in with the genuine belief that I had ADHD, and wanted to try medication to see if it helped. He didn't do any formal testing--just asked me a few basic questions and wrote a prescription. That's a little sketchy, but I didn't particularly mind. I found both drugs were beneficial, so in follow-up appointments and he was happy to continue prescribing. When I later moved to Seattle for work, I stopped taking them for no particular reason (they helped but weren't exactly life-changing). A few months later, I asked Dr. Stoufflet's office to fax my records over to my new PCP, which they did (albeit slowly). Strangely, everything was included except information about those… prescriptions. I didn't think much of it, until I later decided I wanted to give Ritalin a try for help at work. I think I tried to get in contact with them again to no avail, but I can't remember how that happened exactly (this was about 3 years ago). Fast forward to now: I again thought I'd give Ritalin a try (still haven't done so since 2010), so I ask the receptionist (Suzanne), over the phone and in a subsequent email, to fax over ALL of my records, specifically including prescription information, so my current doctor can make the best decisions as to what medication I can safely take. She says sure, but she'll have to get my records out of storage first, and it'll take a week. Okay. So I wait a couple weeks. My current hospital has received nothing. I call them back, ask for Suzanne, and am told she's busy but will call me back, so I leave my number. My call is never returned, and at least half a dozen calls later are not answered at all. Same goes for a couple emails I send asking for an update. It's impossible to guess exactly what's going on, but at this point I don't think incompetence could explain it. Perhaps Dr. Stoufflet is trying to cover up for what he now views as reckless prescribing, or perhaps they've tacitly decided I'm a med seeker, who knows. Either way, withholding medical records (and refusing to communicate why) seems pretty unethical to me. I'm no lawyer, but I think it's even illegal under HIPAA. I don't care enough to follow up on this, but I thought other folks should at least know.

If you are looking for a doctor whose staff is rude, never returns a phone call, and never looks at you (nor says anything] than this is the doctor for you. If you are looking for a doctor who will write a prescription and charge less than others (cash paying) than this is the doctor for you. If you are looking for a doctor with good diagnostic skills, a warm and caring demeanor, courteous staff, attentive bedside manner and good follow up, than this is NOT the doctor for you.

I have been to Dr. Stoufflet several times, and found him to have better listening skills than the vast majority of doctors I have been to. In the 40 years I have been dealing with complex medical issues he is only the 2nd doctor I have been completely happy with.He is patient with my questions, and unlike with most other Dr.s, I have never had to stand in the doorway to keep him from leaving before I finished with my agenda. He also seems to be happy to serve as a primary care provider for people with complicated issues to follow, unlike many internists who seem to want to diagnose and refer instead of treating. I prefer to have someone who knows my entire situation, and who is willing to listen and respond to all of my questions.

Dr. Stoufflet seems burned out on his work and is robotic in his manner and interaction. I hope he either gets recharged or retires from practice.

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Stoufflet for 15 years. He is an excellent physician.

I've been a patient of Dr. Stoufflet for just over four years. I have a spinal injury & on my 1st visit I believe my b.p. was over 180 from pain; after moving here from another state, & low on meds. He 1st asked me questions while reading my forms; but mostly listened. He really cares, looks you in the eye, responds to you directly & then he asked, is there anything else you need? Years of spinal pain also causes complex issues; including loss of career, loss of ability to travel, your friends stop asking you out, your family loses their love for you since you're not a productive Engineer, you're not on Wall street anymore. Without my doctor & his kind and dedicated staff..( the same staff for all 4.5 years) I may not be here. I thank him and wish everyone could have a Physician this compassionate and genuine.

found staff kind and very nice. appts. easy to get . Dr. Stoufflet was a good listener, felt he understood all of my problems and delt w/ them in away that has worked well for me.I feel much better.
