Dr. Paul Eric Sylvan, MD

Dr. Sylvan has received extensive training in breast imaging and is board certified in radiology and internal medicine. He has performed hundreds of image-guided breast procedures, including stereotactic biopsy. Since entering private practice with La Jolla Radiology in 1991, he has added skills in interventional radiology. Dr. Sylvan received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. At Yale, he also served as chief resident in both internal medicine and diagnostic radiology. Following a fellowship in body imaging, he became an assistant professor of diagnostic radiology. His wife, Dr. Ellen Heyneman, is a child psychiatrist at University of California, San Diego. A golf enthusiast, Dr. Sylvan competes with a 9 handicap. Challenging his golf supremacy are his two children, Katie and Michael. Molly, their golden retriever, prefers other sports.
