Dr. Paul Bernard Sytman, MD

I have a cardiac history and am over 60 years old. My glucose was trending high over the past couple of years and Dr. Sytman NEVER ordered an A1C. It was not until I visited an ER for something else was it suggested I get it checked. I had to request it myself. Now, I have full blown diabetes that maybe could have been prevented.Earlier, when my own doctor was on vacation, I had come in and Dr. Sytman was the fill-in for my doctor. I had complained about a burning sensation in my chest. He told me to take omeprazole. I informed him that I had known what heartburn felt like and this was not heartburn. He didn't listen. It did not resolve it, and he told me, 'double the dose', even after me telling him this was not heartburn. When my doctor came back from vacation, I found myself at the cardiologist and required emergency open-heart surgery. DO NOT VISIT THIS DOCTOR

When i made a request to have labs done, I was not allowed. The remark Dr. Sytman made to me was: “This is not Starbucks!”.

He does 'just' what he needs to. He does not put much thought into his work. He always seems like he wishes he had the day off. Not impressed.

Listens very well to concerns. Seems to have all the time needed. Decides quickly on a plan.

NO real eye contact made. Visit was methodical, rehearsed and again rushed with not much talk or comments. Just told that lab results were needed and dropped me off to get blood drawn. End of visit. Averaged 2.571 stars so upped to 3.

I have seen Dr. Sytman for several years now. I think he's a good doctor.I feel however that he lacks compassion for people in difficult situations.
