Dr. Paul Thurmes, MD, is an oncologist and hematologist committed to empowering patients with clear and accurate information about their diagnoses and treatment options. Dr. Thurmes has an impressive academic background, including a Medical Degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School and a fellowship in oncology and hematology from the Mayo Clinic. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Hematology, and is affiliated with several …professional organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the American Society of Hematology (ASH), and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC). His professional achievements include receiving scholarships from the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and the Walter and Virginia Sohre scholarship for geriatrics. Dr. Thurmes has authored numerous research papers and has been actively involved in clinical trials, particularly focusing on melanoma and lung cancer. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Thurmes enjoys the changing seasons of Minnesota, hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, gardening, and cooking with his partner in Minneapolis.
