Dr Tortonlani listens to you and understands your situation and tries to help with the pain. He’s did 2 lower back surgeries on me L5-S1 both side and getting ready to do my 3rd surgery a ALIF one a Medstar and followed him to St Joseph’s I’m scared because of the life change but Dr T he has reassured me I need it to help with my issues so I can get back to some sort of normal life and his bedside manners are wonderful not only for me but with my family that has accompanied me to my appointments and surgeries and I like he talks my language not Dr language to let me know what is going on and what he’s going to do next to help me out. I have to also say that the staff he worked with and is working with have been very helpful and supportive especially with paperwork and checking in on me at home little things mean a lot.

Dr Tortolani performed trans foraminal fusion on my lower back relieving excruciating nerve pain. Highly recommend not only his skill but also his caring and professional staff.

Dr. Justin Tortolani is the best. I had surgery 15 years ago for Spinal Stenosis couldn't walk a block without loosing feeling in my legs I had let it go so long the only thing to do was surgery. I was devastated. I have had knees and hip replacement but my back is another story one slip and the results would be paralysis. J's bedside manner is spot on and his hands are as skilled as they come. Well I am getting ready for my second back surgery at the hands of Dr. J and as nervous as I am the only thing that gives me comfort is the gentleman that will be doing the surgery is Dr. Justin Tortolani the best in the business.

Dr. Tortolani andhis tramare amazing, the kind of people that you want caring for you and your loved one. Professional, warm, competent, and skilled are just a few words I would use to describe Dr,T and his team. I have had significant post operative nausea in the past and his PA Jen took the time to listen to my needs and make sure the correct meds were on hand.Overall great experience!

I have known Dr. Tortolani since 2003. He has to be the best Surgeon I have ever meet. He is so down to earth, he can laugh when you need to or wipe your tears when he needs to, understanding and so much more. He has sat on the floor in pre - op while talking with my parents. He spends so much time with every patient he drives his staff crazy. The fact that he helped to invent the artificial disc that is used thousands of times a year all over the world tells you that HE has everything under control. His kind and thoughtful words to my parents have kept them going while I have been in surgery. He is actually a really funny guy and told me I could be playing the piano in just a few weeks. A miracle since I didn't know anything about the piano. I even have a tattoo on my back telling him to CUT HERE ... I consider him not as a Surgeon but as a friend.

I met with this surgeon after he was recommended to me by several friends. I have had multiple back surgeries and was not ready at this time to have another one. Dr. Tortolani took the time to go over all X-rays, MRI films and educate me on why surgery would be a good option offering realistic relief. He respectfully informed me my weight might put me a risk for a greater risk of infection if I do choose surgery. This information was most appreciated and has not been shared with me by any other surgeon. His positive comments and willingness to listen to me was refreshing. I did not feel rushed and his resident was great as well. Great experience with this kind doctor. Thanks Dr. Tortolani.

Dr Tortolani gave me back my life. After 15 years of pain and disability, I am fixed!!!!! He completed a very complicated fusion which has allowed me to walk again.Thank you, goes to Dr. T.

Dr. T corrected my scoliosis over 10 years ago and I still have a pulse and I am still vertical!

Dr. Tortolani performed a microdiscectomy on me roughly a week ago, and I could not be happier. All of my pain is gone, with no residual effects. I can not speak highly enough of his staff and especially his surgical expertise. Dr. Tortolani is just a pleasant guy, who is good at what he does. I would recommend him without hesitation.
