Wrong diagnosis, lost biopsy, twice the allowed overbilling which was sent 6 months after service

Dr. Urie's office did a pathology review on my wife which was incorrect. We went to Huntsman and they requested the original biopsy and Dr. Urie's office/Utah Valley Medical Center lost it. We had to pay for another biopsy at the Huntsman Cancer institute and they correctly diagnosed the type of cancer it was and saved her life. If we went with the pathology report from this doctor she would have been given a different cancer treatment and would have died. 6 months after this we received a bill for twice the allowed amount by the insurance approved prior to the biopsy. The insurance had paid and this guy and his office have been trying to rip us off for another $544 in addition to what the insurance has paid.

I had a mole removed at my doctor's office during my routine annual physical - it - the mole - had changed color and the the borders had changed to uneven. The edges were scalloped or notched. Dr. Paul Urie the pathologist and his partner Dr. Leavitt charged me almost $2000 dollars to conduct the test on this mole. This is more than 1/20th of my annual take home pay. They refused to bill my EMI insurance correctly. Know the costs up front or choose another pathologist.
