After surgery I had issues and he would not see me. They had me try different meds at home. Could never get in for an appointment to see HIM. No matter how much pain I was in. Only saw nurse. After 6 weeks of pain I switched doctors. Would not recommend

My family and I have a long history with Dr. Vignati dating back over 20 years ago with my fathers first surgery due to FAP. Since then he has performed multiple surgeries and countless procedures on each of my uncles, my father, and myself and I wouldn't be able to find a single negative thing to say about him or his team. Dr. Vignati has always done everything he could and if at any point he didn't have experience in a complication that arose he was quick to refer other excellent surgeons who specialized in that specific surgery to assure our best interest was first and we had the best results. In May of this year when my pouch had a tear Dr. Vignati rushed in at midnight on a Friday to perform surgery to literally save my life. Beyond his surgical skills and true care for patients, his entire staff including Betsy, Ann, and Jamie have always been fast to help and gone above and beyond.

Went for a colonoscopy. Asked EVERYONE I spoke to there if they would do hemorrhoid banding “while they were in there” and I was unconscious. ALL said no problem. When I woke up, I asked him if he did it and he said, “No, that’s done in an office visit.” I told him every single person I spoke to about it said yes. He said, “We don’t have the banding gun here.” His office is yards away.

I allowed Dr Viganti to operate on me to fix what he said was a "simple procedure". He explained possible side effects which I accepted but he certainly did not explain the outcome that happened to me. I developed a severe infection from the surgery and was in intense pain for two weeks after the procedure. His office was not responsive or empathetic to my circumstances and their lack of action forced me to seek out other doctors opinions and I was forced to have corrective surgery (immediately) that minimized my pain but I continue to have lifelong impacts from the procedure. I would not recommend him as a surgeon based upon my experience and how what he did has impacted my life afterwards

Excellent doctor, very thorough and explains the entire procedure. Wonderful bedside manner, makes you feel comfortable with the process.

I saw Dr Vignatti in the fall of 2016 because i was looking for options to repair a complete abdominal wall rupture or diostasis caused by carelessness of another Hartford based colon surgeon. I took great care to to get all my nescessary medical records so he could read them and make an informed opinion. But the appointment was horrible. Dr Vignati came in , didnt have the courtesy to read my medical records as if i was wasting his time and after a 30 second examination said to me how well the surgery came out. When i pointed out how the surgery caused my intestines to bulge out and exploded my belly 6 inches out, he said that just was a minor aesthtic concern. He then stated thats the way things are going to be and i would just have to learn to live with it.There was no mention of component resection surgery which could of possibly improved the situation. I must say i was totally digusted by his indifference to me. Maybe because i wasnt his patient but that is no excuse..He… came highly recommended but i would never go back to see him again. Id rather die on the side of the road then see him again.

I have had MANY DOCTORS YALE AND LOTS of other doctors doctor vignati is BY FAR THE MOST caring loving doctor..I am disabled and all he did was take his time to reassure me that its ok and he cares about me instead of what insurance I have......

I had a very poor surgical experience with Dr Vignati and I would not recommend him.After my surgery he did not drop by to visit with me , at the hospital, and provide guidance on my post surgery . I had rectal surgery and developed post surgery complications. I was in significant pain and followed up immediately with his office but was not given time or guidance on what to do. He would not see me immediately and I was forced to see his Nurse practitioner who was not helpful at all. I had to have a second surgery to correct the outcome of the first surgery and I have just been told that I may need a third surgery as a consequence of the first time in. I give him poor marks based upon not only the result but also the post surgery experience. I have been forced to see another specialist to find relief

In 2003 I had no time for cancer as a caregiver for my husband who had Alzheimer's disease. Dr.Vignati understood his diagnosis of colon cancer stage 2 in a dfficult area/also mass on liver was the last thing I needed to hear. He was direct and compassionate at the same time.And I got to go home after he worked his "magic" to rid my body of cancer.He told me it was gone and I believed him.Almost 10 years later and I am healthy.
