Dr. Paul Young

Dr. young and all of his staff at Mayo Clinic are great.

The Mayo Hospital itself is very impersonal. You are treated like cattle. They give you multiple appointments on the same day and each appointment does go pretty quickly but you spend the whole day there due to all the other little appointments. Make sure you bring something to read. Dr Young will talk to you during the initial consultation but he doesn't provide hardly any information unless you specifically ask him. Terrible bedside manner. If you want to talk to him and not his intern, you can forget it. I went to this hospital with bladder cancer and am basically ignored except during surgery. I have only met one person that worked there in the entire hospital that expressed ANY compassion for me and actually took any time to talk to me and treat me as a person and not a number.

Outstanding Doctor

We came to to Mayo to see Dr Young with a diagnosis of bladder cancer-G3. We had been other places and had Treat ment plans that would be life long life changing operations. We can in scares and confused. Dr. Young calmed our fears and told us he could remove the cancer and send my husband home whole. 2 weeks later my husband is home healing from the surgery. We will never go anywhere else for surgical treatment. The entire organization is outstanding. Not enough words of praise for Mayo The patients comes first.
