Dr. Paula Grant Burkard, MD

Dr. Burkhard has been my gastroenterologist for 12 years. Over that time period, she has always listened to ANY health concerns I have had, even to make immediate referrals for me that same day with other specialists on staff where she practices. Without her prompt attention to my health problems that were not gastro-related, I would not be as healthy as I am today. She truly treats the "WHOLE PERSON" and will go out of her way to make sure that her patients are thriving. I would recommend Dr. Burkhard to anyone and if my children needed treatment when they become adults, I would most certainly take them to Dr. Burkhard for treatment....(and having had gastro issues for 30 years, I'm picky about physicians.)

I had originally given this doctor an excellent rating... Time told different. I kept telling her I did not feel well after she took me off my medication. All she kept telling me is I had a problem with my pelvic floor muscles and to take a laxative. A year and a half later, multiple ER visits and finally a very comprehensive CT scan,,, I was diagnosed with what I knew all along... Dr. Burkard spent the time... but was not listening.. You know the body the best and must trust it. Now I have to trust my decision to find someone who will listen when I say... I feel sick.

I have only seen Dr. Burkhard once in the office and once in the hospital for a colonoscopy. I have never had a GI procedure done before and she was very informative and really seemed to care for me personally, even though I'm sure she had many patients to see that day. I highly recommend her to anyone in the Buffalo, NY area and know that she will take the time to explain everything to you and put your mind at ease. Two thumbs up!!

After searching for a long time and through an agonizing stomach condition, Dr. Burkard is a god send. With many of the physicians having lines out the door, and huge practices, and also talking into a computer and dictating while you sit there, Dr. Burkard looks you straight in the face, asks pertinent questions, and makes you feel at ease. She is human, caring, and a wonderful gastroenterologist. I would highly recommend her to anyone searching for a doctor who has published and knows her medicine, and is also truly caring about her patients. She is truly a diamond.
