Dr DeYoung goes above and beyond. She really cares about her patients. She is easy to talk to about any concerns. I highly recommend her!

I was told I needed a LEEP procedure so naturally I got a second opinion. The doctor who provided the second opinion informed me that the LEEP procedure is very common/routine and he would do it right in his office. However, with OBGYN Associates the procedure would take place in the hospital under general anesthesia which of course is extremely costly (first red flag). When I tried to reach out to Dr. DeYoung to discuss my concerns she lacked any bedside manner and told me she would answer my questions at the pre-op appointment (second red flag). I decided to cancel all further appointments with her and to proceed with the OBGYN who gave me the second opinion. When my new OBGYN had me come in for an exam he could not find any concern in the area(s) Dr. DeYoung had noted. He took several more biopsies (in the same area(s) where she said there was an issue and in other areas where he saw potential concern). Thankfully, ALL biopsies came back negative. It is possible that Dr. DeYoung… could have removed the entire area of concern during my colposcopy, however, my concern is what she would have done if I was already on the operating table under general anesthesia? Would she have proceeded with the LEEP procedure unnecessarily? I should also mention that one of the major risks with the LEEP procedure is miscarriage/pre-mature delivery...not something you want to chance unless absolutely necessary.
