Dr. Paula J. Rackoff, MD

I went to see Dr Rackoff again having not been for 4 years and was reminded how very special she is as a care giver. She was not only attentive, she followed up with me to ensure I was improving after my visit.

Very limited intake prior to prescribing medication off label initially thought to be for 3 months and then for 12 months and deferring lumbar spine surgery ??

She is knowledgeable, efficient, and compassionate. She diagnosed my RA after I spent years with symptoms that other physicians didn't catch. Her treatment recommendations have helped me feel better. I feel very well cared for when I visit her office at NYU-Langone.

I came to Dr. Rackoff with joint pain in the knees, elbows, fingers, among other symptoms. It's been THREE WEEKS, and she has not made much of an effort to follow-up with me despite abnormal lab results. She tried to call me twice while I was at work, but I missed her. Whenever I call back, she is not available. Her office staff refuse to schedule a call so we can coordinate our schedules. I leave all my available times so we won't miss each other and keep my phone by my side. She will not respond to messages on mychart. She forgot to send my topical prescription to initially deal with the pain to my pharmacy. I had to nag the staff. Then when they did send the prescription, they sent it to some random pharmacy in another STATE. I still have not heard back and they do not seem to care at all, so I now have to schedule with another doctor to hopefully get some answers and some kind of prescription. Since my first visit, I have had trouble going down the stairs, brushing my hair and… teeth w/o pain.

I really like Dr. Rackoff a lot. She is very knowledgeable regarding my autoimmune disease and has helped me tremendously. She is an awesome rheumatologist.
