Dr. Paula Abby Rothman

Horrible bedside manner and I think she may have performed an unnecessary procedure on me. Avoid at all costs.

Paula Rothman is good Dr. I know her 1994. She is very proficient her field.

I agree with many of the reviews. I am a former patient of Dr. Rothman. She has very bad bedside manners. She is also rude and insensitive. I went to her for recurrent pelvic pain. We did not find anything with an ultrasound or through tests. So when I revisited because of the same issue, her words to me were "Let's just do a hysterectomy so you won't keep complaining. That's all I can offer you." Very insensitve! Later I found out from another doctor that I have cysts on my ovaries.Also the office can use some cleaning.

I have been a patient of Dr. Rothman for many years. I am writing this review because I'm horrified by the other reviews. I have always found her to be a delightful person and very competent physician. She immediately made me feel comfortable at all 3 offices. She's easy to talk to about very personal matters and has never pushed services or procedures on me. I know that I'm in good hands and intend to stay with her as long as she practices.

I am almost positive Dr. Rothman ordered tests on me that were unnecessary. In 2009, I had an abnormal pap. She stated, come in three more times, for three months and if those are normal, you're in the clear. All of my subsequent paps were normal, yet she made me come back at least six times for follow up. Once her practice closed, I stupidly went to her at the new location, where she told me it "looked like I had a yeast infection." Long story short, I have never had one, and didn't that day, but she sent lab tests up North somewhere and charged my insurance company close to $1,700 for tests that I didn't even need. I swear she rips insurance companies off and scared me into thinking I had abnormalities that ended up being inaccurate. Do not go to Paula Rothman.

a truly horrible experience. the waiting room which we sat in for over 30 minutes was pretty standard. the room in which we did the check up in however was disgusting and dirty. the walls had holes in them paint pealing and dirt all over the floor. she was curt and cold when asking question. when i told her i wasnt sexually active she said seriously? is that because your mom is here? i need to know the truth. i was offended and embarrassed. right after that she wanted to do an ultra sound and ran out of the room like monkey to check our insurance which took another 20 minutes. then demanded it be paid for before she continued any conversation. once my mom paid for it. she insisted my mom not to come in for the ultra sound saying,"shes a big girl. she doesnt need her mommy." i was shocked and told her id get the money back and leave if that was her policy. the ultra sound took 10 minutes in a room that for some reason was so unprofessional it had a beach landscape wall paper. the one… concern i had she said she could not address because my ovary was not in sight. two days later i went to another doctor who got a clear shot of both my ovaries and didnt understand her report. she left the room and we waited there for 15 more minutes expecting her to come back. eventually i walked out and found she was with her assistants ordering meds. she said, "youre all set to check out." i had tons of questions, but she didnt give the time to address any of them. waste of money, time, and gas. money hungry, cold hearted, careless hag. DONT GO. regardless of the bargain so not worth it.

After a borderline osteoporosis bone scan, she prescribed Evista because it will help the osteoporosis but - even more importantly "will prevent the return of the breast cancer" (her statement)I went through last year.After the immediate onset of bad side effects from the drug - hot flashes, depression and bone joint ache, I called; but was told that I must continue the med because "it will prevent the recurrence of my breast cancer".A website search of the Evista manufacturer's website found a very large bold print warning: "Evista will not prevent the return of breast cancer." Stopping the med resulted in an immediate relief from the side effects.My Oncologist said that this drug is most definitely not for me (He further said that Evista is for Estrogen positive patients; and I'm Estrogen negative!); and that Dr Rothman had obviously had a drug rep's sales pitch and went for it hook line and sinker.This is not the first prescribing problem I've had with this doc; but it is… definitely the last.

Most Doctors will give a discount, if you do not have insurance, when paying in cash. This Doctor will not give any discount. This doctor is very condescending when asking questions, particularly how you have survived with insurance. Check and re-check professional references given by this Doctor.

I went to her for 7 years out of convenince. And let me tell you she was rude then, but I didn't want to look for another doctor because she only looked at me for 5 minutes and my paps were normal, but the moment I had to have a conversation with her I could've screamed. First I had to call to get my mamogram results 3 weeks later and in which the center told me they sent them in 3 days. The day I called I guess I was a little ticked because, but the woman was so RUDE. So I was like can I have your name and you know what she said, I'm Dr. Rothman. I was through from that point. For her to speak to a patient that way she must've been crazy, but I knew all the time. But since I'm thinking about having a baby there's no way I would let her handle that.
