Dr. Paymaun Lotfi, MD

Dr Lotfi is a great doctor and surgeon. He takes the time to talk with you and is very serious about your condition and health. I had back surgery last year and he is committed to making sure I heal up properly. I am walking and feeling much better since he did the surgery.

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Lotfi for about 15 years and he always takes good care of his patients. I have had shoulder and back surgery (twice) and both times he has performed outstanding in fixing and repairing me. The NOVA Orthopedic & Spine care is the best place to go for any type of orthopedic work. I wouldn't go anywhere else. He preformed a 6 hour back surgery that came out successful. Before the surgery, I could barely walk and in severe pain. After the surgery I felt no pain in my back and I can now walk my dog and walk everywhere else (it took me about 2 months to heal). He is a top notch Doctor who is excellent at his field of work and I would recommend him.

When I came to Dr. Lotfi, I had been suffering from 24/7 sciatic nerve pain for six months. When this pain began I went to Urgent Care and was given a steroid injection which lasted less than one day. Then I tried physical therapy and a chiropractor, none of which relieved my awful pain. Then I went to the first ortho place. I was prescribed a "steroid dosepack" which did nothing, then I was prescribed gabapentin, again no relief. Then I had my first lumbar steroid injection. Unbelievably, this made my pain worse. My insurance finally approved an MRI. My primary care doc (who I love and completely trust) recommended Dr. Lotfi. From the moment I met Dr. Lotfi, I felt like I was in very good hands. He was kind and genial. He explained what the MRI was showing and said surgery was the next step. I was not yet ready for surgery. Dr. Lotfi did not push the surgery, he suggested trying one more lumbar steroid injection. When I had the same results as the first injection I knew… that I had no option but surgery. Dr. Lotfi was wonderful in explaining what would happen during the surgery. Upon waking from the surgery my sciatic pain was gone!!! I went through six weeks of physical therapy which was of great assistance. I am today pain free and I have Dr Payman Lotfi to thank for giving me back my life!!

Dr. Lotfi performed a spinal fusion and disk replacement. My recovery was fairly quick, and my only problem was that the knotted final stitch of my scar didn't dissolve and caused a bubble to form, which became infected. I was very dedicated to rehab, and 8 months out from surgery I have almost complete range of motion and I can touch my toes easily. I was afraid of this surgery, but now I am grateful everyday. Dr. Lotfi repaired extensive damage, my surgery was 1.5 hours longer than expected. Today I am PAIN FREE!! Dr. Lotfi has years of experience and great skill, I am glad he was my doctor.

Dr Lotfi is absolutely the most professional and highly skilled orthopaedic surgeon and I trust implicitly and absolutely with diagnosing and treating me for any issue with my back and spine. I have seen Dr Lotfi for two problems, and he has absolutely corrected both issues, including a major emergency when I broke my back in an accident. As a result, I am completely healed, suffer no pain, and have had NO mobility issues since. If you need to see an orthopaedic surgeon in this area, Dr. Lotfi is the only one you should call.

The pain started in my left arm approx. 4-5 months before seeing Dr. Lotfi. During that time I had passed it off as muscle soreness due to working out. When I tried massage therapy, physical therapy and chiropractic visits, it seemed to worsened. Dr. Lofti was very thorough in his diagnosis and recommended surgery for my ruptured disc. I'm so happy I followed through with his recommendation. After 2 weeks, I feel much better and have a full range of motion in my neck and left arm.

X-Rays, C-Scan and MRI revealed that I had a bone spur on the interior of the C5 vertebrae and C6 and C7 showed arthritis damage. Dr. Lotfi performed my surgery on August 22, 2017. Surgery was successful and I began physical therapy 2 weeks afterwards. I had 9 sessions of physical therapy and I have resumed my daily activities.

Dr. Lotfi performed TLIF spinal fusion surgery on Oct. 24, 2017 and it has been very successful in eliminating my severe and debilitating leg pain, numbness and weakness. I have now begun physical therapy at Village Physical Therapy and I have begun walking daily again. I expect full recovery as a result of the surgery. Thank you Dr. Lotfi.
