A very unhelpful experience

I’ve never had a psychiatrist do both a medicine visit along with a more traditional talk therapy session each time. This has led to an actual client/provider trust and diagnosis that would not have been found otherwise. After what seemed like a lifetime of misdiagnosis, medication for adhd which helped a bit for years- she diagnosed me after much care and genetic testing (not for diagnosis but to determine which medicine to steer clear of) - with bipolar 2. She teaches skills so it’s not just talking, and she is able to explain what is medical and what is personality or basic struggles when it comes to the therapeutic piece. Always calls back even if I just texted a question and very focused on true care.
