This review is for dr orozcos services while I was in the hospital ready to give birth. (My background) I was very nervous requesting an anesthesiologist because of my previous experience with st Judes almost 7 years ago when I had my son, I ended up having a spinal headache due to the epidurals placement that did not go away for weeks (there not very common) It's the worst headache anyone can ever get. You feel like your going to die if you sit up or stand up. Because of this previous bad experience and no one in the ER after many visits going there not knowing what was wrong with me post partum, until it finally went away on its own (several weeks after) I was scared the same thing would happen all over again. Plus I had a bad back I have degenerative disc disease from my previous job. While at the hospital (this time around nov. 2015) I was on high levels of pitocin, ob gyn and nurses trying to get me dilated as quickly as possible since the hospital needs your bed. I was in great… pain, excruciating which is uncommon with labor but even worse with pitocin. I just couldn't take it anymore. As scared to death as I was about getting the spinal headache again, the only reassurance I had was my husbands telling me he would tend to our daughter if I ended up getting it again. So I told the nurse to call the anesthesiologist. (Dr orozcos impression) Dr orozco Walked in 5 minutes later. He introduced himself. He told me the procedure and told me what he was going to do. I told him about my past history and he was very attentive and listened to my needs and fears. He assured me that the spinal headache is one in a million and the fact that it happened to me can be a very scary one that does have resolution if I were to get it again but he highly doubts it will. I was crying scared to death. And so he told me we're going to work on your positioning. He actually took the time to visually show me how my back will be positioned even though it took me about 15 times to get it correct. He told me to tell my mom that I have great posture and I'm not a very good sloucher. (He also has a sense of humor) finally when I was in the position, he explained the procedure step by step, and as soon as you know it he was done. I was so amazed, so greatful. Gosh I think I will be forever greatful. This doctor looks very young. But man is he good. I recommend it to any pregnant woman who is going to give birth at st Judes and need an epidural. He is great. In less than 10 minutes I was pain free. And the best part about it. NO SIDE EFFECTS whatsoever. He was blessed amazing hands. Thank you dr orozco
