Dr. Pedro P Torres, MD

Had to have surgery to remove cancer, and half my colon. Tests later showed another mass that couldn't be seen before, and my wife asked him about it. We had to get medical records for our cancer policy, and the next visit Torres told me he would not see me anymore, and blamed it on my wife, making her feel like crap. I later found out he was actually worried about being sued, so lied to me and my wife and made her feel like crap as an excuse to drop me as a patient, knowing I need surgery to remove the rest of my colon. Do not subject yourself to this man, he is as cold as his staff is caring. I wouldn't trust him again if he were a veterinarian.

I will never forget the day that my 35 year old son told me that he was diagnosed with colon cancer. I felt that my whole world came tumbling down and I could only imagine the fear and horror that my son must have be feeling. A few days later my son called me and asked me to look for a specialist on Colon Cancer as he wanted a second opinion so I look on the internet and typed in top 5 colon cancer specialistt in Corpus Christi and Dr Pedro Torres was one of them. I immediately called his office and his staff was very friendly and concerned. They were able to get him in as soon as possible for a consultation. On that same day we had blood work CTs and all preps ready to set him up for surgery. Our first visit with Dr Torres was amazing he was very attentive he reviewed all the images and records from the previous Dr he sat us in his office and explained to our understanding about the surgery. Dr Torres asked several times why at such a young age he had a colonoscopy and my son… explain that his body just didn't feel right in his abdonment and so he asked to get one done at that point Dr Torres felt very confident that we had caught this at a very early stage which was great to know. He showed us images of the colon and explained how the cancer can spread and what to expect. My son left Dr Torres office feeling confident and his words to me were "Mom I feel like this Dr knows exactly what he is doing and he made me feel like there is a future for me. Mom I feel in my heart that all is going to be ok" Dr Torres personnally called my son and gave him the results of all his tests and all came back with great results the cancer had not spread and his blood levels were great. Over all my son had his surgery "laparoscopic" with Dr Torres expirience he was able to do this new surgery which helps in the recovery time for colon cancer surgery. My son is living a full life and thanks GOD everyday for putting Dr. Torres in our lives and like Dr Torres told my son "you are GOD saved" Thank you Dr Torres for all you did for my son and for giving restoring hope and happiness in his life.

Love my doctor!!! He is caring, patient and takes time to explain things thoroughly to his patients. Truly an angel and great person. His staff is amazing.
