Dr. Peggy L. Curtis has been practicing in the field of dentistry since 1985. After completing her dental school requirements a year early, she entered the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After graduation she spent 5 years combining being the Director of the School Dental Health Program for the city of Detroit and early private practice. During this time, she planned her relocation to California by taking the California Dental Boards and successfully passing on the first attempt.
Her husband chose a graduate school in San Diego and needless to say, they loved it and decided to stay. In San Diego, Dr. Curtis worked in various community clinics, which included being the Dental Director of the San Diego American Indian Health Center for 5 years. For several years, she also served as the Dental Consultant for San Diego's Neighborhood House Head Start Program. …During this time, Dr. Curtis maintained a private practice and attended San Diego State University majoring in business and minoring in public health. She received a Masters of Business Administration degree in 1994.
In 1995, Dr Curtis decided to focus solely on private practice when she started her family, which now includes two wonderful children. Family and career have both been so important that Dr. Curtis has strived to achieve a comfortable balance between the two. The balance allows her to love her work more than ever!
Dr. Curtis continues to expand her abilities to offer more extensive restorative and cosmetic procedures to her patients. Dr Curtis has had over 1200 hours of continuing education and is passionate about the practice of dentistry. She enjoys the process of improving the health of her patients, controlling dental disease and creating beautiful smiles.
Dr. Curtis is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, California Dental Association and the San Diego County Dental Society. Dr Curtis lives in San Diego with her husband, Herb Martin and their son and daughter. When she is not enjoying attending basketball games, school plays, ballet recitals, soccer matches, and gymnastic classes, she loves visiting art museums, doing yoga, skiing, making jewelry, and reading a good book
