Dr. Peggy Jean Lomax, MD

My experience: Lomax met me twice. Second time, she was 15 minutes late and spent 12 minutes with me. She has an arrogant, nervous way of ending many sentences with "ok". With me, she used it no fewer than 10 times after comments. That leaves 9 minutes. For the remainder of the time she told me I needed a blood test and AKG but prescribed me an antihistamine and wrote me a prescription for the blood test, AKG and said AH. In the remaining 5 minutes she said, "I think you should be on a mood stabilizing drug Depakote or Lithium, but only after I completed prescribed tests. Why? Don't know but I can tell you it isn't because she knows my diagnosis. Then she tried to schedule my next visit, "ok". I said no need. 4 days later I received a bill for $210 after the original $300, which was apparently a discount based on her bill collectors comments. Before you make a potentially life changing decision, before you get a $350 bill, before you search for help and hope, cross Dr. Peggy Lomax off… your list and move on. You'll be glad you did.

Not at all current on bipolar research and treatment options. Zero personal or communication skills. Overpriced, underqualified and disinterested in her patients and profession both. Just plain weird.

I was very glad to find Dr. Peggy Lomax ~ She is very attentive and helpful in assisting me ~ I am a 45 year old woman.

The rudest woman I have ever met. If there are any professional standards, she should be told what they are since she lacks basic social skills( totally ignores greetings - she does not need to respond if you are not white). If you are a person of color, stay away from her. God know what she may prescribe as her recommended medications have nothing to do with diagnosis. She does know how to get money from insurance and authorized to write prescription. They should do a drug test on her to see what she is on as I have never seen such combination of incompetence and unprofessionalism.

Perhaps because Dr. Lomax has been practicing for so many years, is the reason she seems so perfunctory. She may know her stuff but her manner is very off-putting, so it's hard to feel that she really cares about her patient.

Dr. Lomax is not a good listener. I doubt she registered anything I said, and was even checking her phone before our appt was over. She wasn't helpful at all.

Horrible doctor, talked to me in condescending manner and accused me of alcoholism and bipolar disorder... after 5 minutes only of evaluation!! The Lady is weird as a shrink and sports pink frilly dresses and inappropriate makeup..

Does not care about you.

She's an amazing physician. I doubted her diagnoses for a long time only to realize that she was right all along, even after getting a second opinion.

Dr. Lomax is one of the worst Psychiatrist I have ever met. I had my first appointment with her today and will NOT be returning! She had her mind made up about me in 2 mins and would not change her mind. I told that since I have been sober (for over a year) and have not had any symptoms of my ED I have not had any mood swings mania, or depression. My mood has never been better and I was able to wean myself from 300 mg Effexor to 37.5mg and from 900mg Lithium to now no longer taking it. But apparently she did not see things that way. After speaking with her for an hour she diagnosed me bipolar and I needed to stop all my medications and be put on a mood stabilizer. Shocked at this statement I asked her if she had actually listened to anything I had said in the past hour. She continued to argue with an arrogant tone and could not even be reasoned with. Eventually, I just stood up and said thank you for wasting my time and walked out. I got to my car and called my husband crying from… anger and disappointment. She is just a horrible horrible person!
