Dr. Peng Thim Fan, MD

I've been a patient of Dr. Fan for over 21 years. There are few words good enough to describe just how fantastic he is. Dr. Fan is brilliant, caring, knowledgeable, kind, funny and has a light bright personality. He keeps up to date with all new medical data and brings that newly found knowledge directly to us patients. He offers the best advice that makes sense and, more importantly, works. He listens and asks pertinent questions. He works in tandem with my other doctors and I have my own personal dream team with Dr. Fan being the original captain. The office is clean, the staff is efficient & the office is well-organized. Anyone who says otherwise has issues and should not to be taken seriously. A bad temper? Absolutely not! That's slanderous and defamatory. Anyone with a rheumatoid condition would be lucky to have Dr. Fan on their side.

I just love this Dr. FAN. I saw him about 20 years ago and he was the best Dr. I have ever been too .

He is an extremely competent and compassionate doctor. He is very knowledgeable!

I went to see Dr. Fan when I had some abnormal test results. Dr. Fan has been very patient and listens to what I ask and has had excellent follow up. His office staff has been very responsive as well. I hope I never have a disease that requires me to see a Rheumatologist again, but if I did, I feel confident in Dr. Fan.

Huge ego. Bad record keeping. Terrible temper.

I have been a patient of Dr. Fan's for over twelve years. This man is brilliant, caring, and he is completely up-to-date on the latest advances in medicine -- and not only in his own specialty, by the way. Ask your own internist about Dr. Fan. His reputation is stellar. I have been to many doctors (and have many doctor friends)and I can tell you that every time I mention that Dr. Fan is my rheumatologist, they express how lucky I am to have him. One of my doctor friends told me that when he was in medical school at UCLA (over 20 years ago), he thought Dr. Fan was his most brilliant teacher, and he said "Dr. Fan is one of the best doctors in L.A. Period." However,I think it is practically impossible to become a new patient. I may be wrong, but I think that he stopped taking them. But it's always worth a try. As far as the other comment on this page that says the office is disorganized and filthy -- those are just outright lies. And ridiculous ones at that. The staff is professional… and nice and the facility is spotless. Making an appointment is not a big problem when you do it a few months ahead of time, but if you cancel you may not be able to reschedule for a couple of weeks. I just saw Dr. Fan a week ago for a check-up, and I had to wait about 20 minutes to be seen - not bad. He spent about 20 minutes with me, and we talked about everything we needed to talk about, and in a very unrushed manner. But my highest compliment for Dr. Fan is that he brought my arthritis to a complete halt. The joint destruction that I was having ceased when he put me on great medication, and, believe me, my life completely changed for the better. I am forever indebted to this outstanding doctor!

be careful. staff are incompetent. repeatedly wrong meds prescribed, forms not filled out, labs MISREAD. this is a dangerous place. i have been made more ill repeatedly by being prescribed meds they KNEW i was allergic to, prescribed the wrong meds (dose), been very sick because they didn't even look at lab reports. dr. is probably good (altho over half of the appts are cancelled by them!) but there are so many errors, the place is disorganized and filthy and the staff are awful and unprofessional.
