Dr. Penny Sue Glickman, MD

Please read the review from January 11th, 2024. My experience was similar. After many calls and no results, I went on line. I found the information about the cash payments schedule that Dr. Glickman was going to use. No insurance, NO MEDICARE. OUCH! I guess there are enough wealthy patients that will be able to go with a cash payment system. Check out the web page with all the information listed. I have a doctor that will ask me to pay while they will submit paperwork the paperwork to Medicare. I do not mind waiting for reimbursement. This doctor is worth it. For what happened with Dr. Glickman, I agree with the person that wrote the January 11th review.

Overall I think Dr Glickman is a good doctor. Recently she made a move to be a cash-only doctor and there is nothing wrong with that but the way it was done was not in the best interest of her patients. On November 22, we received an email stating her new cash policy that would begin on 1/1/2024. They also stopped answering the phones that day and had a new number for the people wanting to opt into the new plan. There was no information to help navigate through the next steps, no help finding a new doctor where there is already a shortage with less than 60 days before you would be dropped. This is not enough time to find a doctor and be seen before you could run of of medicine. This was a very uncaring move for the patients

The office is run like a well oiled machine. There is no waiting. Everyone in the office is on the same page. Dr. Glickman is very kind and very knowledgeable. If there is any question you just have to call the office. So glad I came to her. Getting my diabetes under control.

Staff sent appointment letter by mail with the handwritten date and time saying Dec. 4 1115. The way it was handwritten was sloppy and I read it as 0ne (slash) fifteen. I came before 0ne PM but I was told that I missed my eleven fifteen appointment and the doctor can not see me. I showed the appointment letter and the lady at the counter insisted it was eleven fifteen. Then I reminded her about the correct way of writing the time. The other lady just took her pen and inserted a colon mark between 11 and 15. They should have called days before to confirm the appointment considering that it took months to book this appointment. Lucky for me when I got home another lady who probably learned about the situation booked me an appointment for Dec 7.

Dr Glickman is wonderful, however, the staff is rude and office procedures are unheard of. If you don't have an appointment within a year of being a patient they send you a letter that you have "requested to be dropped as a patient". The letter isn't even on official office letterhead. After I complained about it they apologized and said it was sent by mistake and reinstated me, however, sent another letter a year later saying I requested to be dropped. They want you to take all your blood tests, bone density scans and other tests at their office rather than through any of your other doctors. I guess if you don't, they drop you as a patient.It's all about the money!! I never heard of a doctor office doing this.

I've been seeing Dr. Glickman in 1998. She is very through. Right on top of everything. Would recommend her for any endocrine problems.

Dr Glickman is an excellent clinician who, unlike other endocrinologists, does a physical exam at each visit. She generally runs on time, her office staff are courteous, and her staff include experts in nutrition and pumps.

Dr Glickman was great in the initial consultation, spending a lot of time with me and engaged in the conversation. After going there for 2 years, I have been on time for every appointment but she is chronically between 45 minutes and an hour late, which I find unacceptable. When I do see her, she is under pressure to "get through" the appointment. I was able to save money get more complete blood work done through my Chriopractor using Quest Labs. Dr. Glickman accepted all the blood work except the Thyroid numbers and wanted that done at her lab. As if Quest would be accurate on 20 other readings but not on the Thyroid numbers. I felt she was insisting on me having my lab work done at her office so she could earn the fees. I have quit going there.

This practice cares more about their processes and your money than they do about your health.
