Dr. Per-Olof John Hasselgren, MD

Dr. Hasselgren is knowledgeable, of course, but he didn't spend enough time with me. Having sort of hurried through my visit, I don't think he evaluated my condition in a thorough manner. So, my impression: he's more of a thyroid specialist. The man is 67 at the moment, by the way.

Needed partial removal of thyroid due to large nodule. Dr. Hasselgren was informative, thorough, and empathetic. Seemed like a genuinely nice person and was extremely professional. Eased my worries and anxiety over the procedure. Surgery went well, was without complication and results were as explained. If necessary, I would definitely return to Dr. Hasselgren and/or recommend to friend or family.

Dr. Hasselgren removed my thyroid/4 lymph nodes several years back, and I never thought to write a review until I saw this website when looking to recommend him to a patient. He is very smart, very kind, and went above and beyond to explain the process. My only complaint was about the staff triage there- insisting on calling me "Mrs. H" even after I asked for first name, Ms., Dr., whatever, but not that. I was there a lot so this was a constant annoyance!

Dr. Hasselgren did a terrific job with a lobectomy. Great medical result, minimal scarring, and I slept at home that night and was up and about and fine within three days. My doctor had thought the whole thyroid should come out; Dr. Hasselgren (surgeon) said half was all that was needed and that the risks were lower that way. His many years of experience show. Strong recommend!
