Dr. Perry James Johnson, MD

If I could leave no stars I would. I’ve had family members go to this doctor and have had to undergo not one but two surgeries to fix the work he’s done (which wasn’t even fixed after undergoing the second surgery). He’s not ethical as I don’t believe a licensed individual should agree to surgeries he’s unable to perform. A family member went to the follow up appointment after the second surgery and as soon as the doctor walked in he said “you have to undergo surgery a third time”. When asking questions regarding the results of the surgery he also made very sarcastic and unethical comments. Very unprofessional. 0/0

Dr. Perry Johnson is Division Chief for Plastic Surgery at UNMC and specializes in rhinoplasty. I have many friends who are health care providers who all highly recommended Dr. Perry Johnson as the "go to" surgeon for rhinoplasty, whether it be cosmetic or complex reconstructive nasal surgery. At consultation Dr. Johnson was humble and genuinely listened to my concerns about my nose. He gave a thorough explanation of rhinoplasty, including limitation, potential complications, and what to expect post-operatively. He used modern digital photo technology to predict what my nose should look like based off his surgical plan. I left consultation feeling reassured, knowing I was in good hands. I ultimately went through with surgery and couldn't be happier with the results. Surprisingly minimal post-op pain. As he informed, it took time for the swelling to fully resolve, but now over 6 months from surgery, can look in the mirror at see the nose I was hoping for. Thank you Dr. Johnson!!!

Rhino Red flag the day of surgery, wish I had cancelled at that moment, not the promised consultation for surgery plan the day of surgery after a very brief initial consultation, rushed. Opposite of the simple change I was seeking. Pain and deformity for over three years after his work. Instead of the simple change now multiple problems. Wanted me to pay for a revision and complained of past patients with similar complaint. Me now unable to hide my emotions, the final words he added were that I was too focused on my nose and I should see a therapist. He abruptly left exam room with no further explanation. (I returned the day after surgery to have the end of my nose sutured together, hanging open, which I was billed.) Don’t…

I say that because I have Synkenisis which is a secondary condition developed from BellsPalsy not healing right. He told me what he did and didn’t know about it,and what he could do, and was very very understanding of my mental state from the sudden disfigurement and where to put the medicine with the extreme pain. He listens when you talk to him, I asked him about another procedure and he didn’t just say “sure talk to my nurse and she’ll set it up”, he said “I think we need to wait another year to see how your face heals and changes etc” MUCH to my disappointment, But for my own safety and for the best outcome. He genuinely really cares about his patients and their results. Let’s not forget his staff! they’re all very patient, kind and understanding. I’ve had to talk to them several times because getting the insurance company to cover procedures with Bell’s palsy it is some thing new and it’s not easy. they try to get you in as quickly as they can because they know you need it. Dr… Johnson’s very knowledgeable, and I feel confident that if anything can be done he will be able to do it,and will be honest with a great bedside manner when he does. A great office a great staff and a super talented doctor.

GYNECOMASTIA BOTCH.. 2 life changing surgeries with this guy. He deformed my chest using bogus procedures. Didn’t take the entire gland from my chest, so it grew back after 1st surgery. Then performed unneeded lipo which created massive crater deformity. Have had 6 surgeries now trying to fix his mistakes and have paid dearly for trusting him.

I had breast cancer and had a double mastectomy 5 years ago by a different surgeon in a different city. After several more following surgeries, trying to fix rippling, dimpling, and other problems due to the implants I had placed in after my expanders came out, I finally gave up. I had went through 6 surgeries in a few years trying to get my chest “fixed” to look somewhat “normal”. I was told about Perry Johnson by my dentist of all people. Lol. Her mother had went to him for reconstruction on her breasts and it was a complete success. After another year of me waiting to go see him, I finally got the courage to call and see what Dr Perry Johnson had to say. I was afraid he’d just say the same thing... to take more fat by doing lipo and have it injected on top of my implants to hide the rippling and dimpling. But I had already had that done so many times, that now I had loose skin all over on my stomach area. I’m thin to begin with, 5’6 and 125 pounds. Well... I walked in to see him,… after chatting for a bit, opened up my gown, he took one look and within seconds said, you need different implants completely. You have a type of implant in that isn’t right for you, due to your skin being so thin and your double mastectomy. All the lipos in the world won’t fix that. He explained what needed to be done by just literally looking at me for just seconds. Well I scheduled surgery with him shortly after that meeting and now it’s 10 months since he took everything out and started completely over. I could have spared all those extra surgeries I had, if I had that information about what I really needed. So now I look not only “normal” but I look amazing. (I’m not biased or anything lol) So after 7 months of him completely re-doing my chest, I had him do a tummy tuck on me because of all of my sagging skin from all the liposuctions I had, to try to fix my chest years ago. As I type this... I’m almost 5 weeks post op from the tummy tuck and I haven’t had a single problem. I didn’t even need drains. 99% of people do but I didn’t for some reason. There’s also about 50% of people that have complications from tummy tucks, but not only did I not have a single one, I was flat, tight, small and firm from literally day 5 post op and ever since. I’m not even healed yet and still recovering. Perfect thin incision that’s already looking good. Two perfect surgeries with no complications. I’ve talked to a few other people who have had him do surgeries and I’ve heard similar stories about him. He’s an amazing surgeon. He knows just what to do with each individual case. I wished I wouldn’t have waited 5 years to go to him. But I’m so excited of how I look now. I 100% suggest him and his staff there.

Nipple sparing mastectomy with expanders then silicone implants. Could not be happier with my experience and final result. I feel whole and beautiful. Cannot thank Dr Johnson enough.

I was 27 when I was diagnosed with cancer. At a time in my life when I couldn't have been more scared, Dr. Johnson and his team were my saving grace. I had done so many consultations with surgeons that, quite frankly, scared the crap out of me. I went into Dr. J's office just defeated and ready for another doctor to freak me out. He didn't though. Him and his team were so amazing. They listen to what you have to say. I was so used to being told what was going to happen to me, and he was the first and ONLY plastic surgeon who sat me down and actually asked me what I was hoping for and what I was wanting. I'm about two years out now, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I lost the left nipple to the cancer, which he reconstructed, and I finally feel like a whole person again. I don't look in the mirror and cry because of how I look. I'll always be so thankful I found him and his team.
