Dr. Perwaiz Hussain Rahim, MD

Dr. P Rahim’s office atmosphere and administrative staff are, almost without exception, very disorganized and sloppy, as well as rude and surly to cover all the disorganization over. I needed the results of the second sleep study, almost immediately after it was done I must have said that several times, on the phone and to staff when I was there. I was promised the results would be ready the same week. However, when I called to retrieve them, a few days later, the same woman who had promised them to me earlier in the week, suddenly proclaimed I would not receive them until my original post-study consult date, June 26. This was the climax of many, many problems with this clinic. There is a significant, impactful disconnect between admin staff, clinical staff, the doctor, office management and the patients. No one in that clinic appears to care they make patients suffer. When I was refused the test results, because they had not been “read” and the doctor had not yet consulted with me,… these requirements were never told to me in advance and there was no agreed timeline for giving the doctor a chance to complete his own requirements. Therefore, no one at the clinic was prepared for my request and this is because admin staff never forwarded my request to the doctor or the clinical staff, even though I had stated my requests several times in advance. When I tried to address these chronic issues, staff would only repeatedly state, how can we help you? This means they brushed my concerns and frustrations aside and would not listen to me when I tried to explain the chronic issues I’ve had to manage over several weeks within their own practice. The admin staff especially has a surly attitude of entitlement. They act with impunity, which makes them unpredictable and dangerous. They have no sense of accountability or consequence, as if they are certain they will not ever be held responsible for their egregious actions of negligence and disregard. They believe they are above reproach. Also, when I call and ask to speak with management, I am refused and my calls are disconnected. Admin staff may politely state, several times, How can I help you? but at the same time they know the chaos they create, the harm they cause patients and do not want to listen to it or correct it. They run Dr. Rahim’s practice with an iron fist. If admin staff does not want something to happen, if it’s an inconvenience for them, they will make sure the doctor and clinical staff never hear of it. The admin staff has created a dictatorial and highly toxic atmosphere, shroud and culture in that practice. And that is a very dangerous standard for their patients, many of whom are seriously unwell, to have to tolerate. Staff is allowed these egregious behaviors every day. Without the second sleep study results sent to the surgery center, Dr. Rahim’s office could have created a very serious situation for my family and me. I desperately needed them, but staff flatly refused to let me have them. Had I not insisted on the phone, and spoken with Dr. Rahim directly, I would have not received them. Also Dr. Rahim promised me he would send the same results to the surgery center by the end of the same day. I called he surgery center and was told they never received them.

Egregious disconnects within office which make effective communications among staff impossible which hurts patients. Requests from patients to admin staff do not get communicated to doctor or tech staff. Calls to call center not answered. Calls disconnected by call center staff. Urgent requests for information confirmed then denied for no reason. Office and clinical protocols not explained to patients. Doctor and clinical staff appear clueless and vacuous to office problems, thereby causing them to fester unaddressed or they are addressed with a sophomoric approach which is useless.

I got put I got put in the hospital a little over a year ago with pneumonia I know some people criticize him as a hateful person or whatever but I feel like that he took care of me and actually save my life cuz like I said I had pneumonia you just have to learn to deal with him cuz yeah sometimes he is grumpy but in my opinion he is a very good doctor I recommend him to anyone thank you

I was in Bartow Regional Medical Center and this dr came in my room all high and mighty arms folded, had very disrespectful attitude, knew little to nothing about my autoimmune serious Lung disorder and did a simple chest xray and st scan and said all was fine when all is not fine... will be reporting him to Medicare and Medicaid services..

I cannot get over the way he talks to his staff in front of us and his other patients, he his so mean! Will be taking our business elsewhere.

Dr. Raho is excellent in his field. He saved me from a life of endless steroids and countless less other meds. He listened to my conncerns and addressesd them to my great satisfaction. He is abrupt at times but has a very busy practice. He or a member of his staff will take the time to address my concerns.I would recommend his care to anyone with pulmonary issues.

Doctor Rahim has very poor bedside manner - poor communicator and does not act as if he likes or cares for women. Wasn't until my husband started coming to office visits that he acted concerned at all. He botched diagnosis as well. His Staff at Winter Haven seem equally unconcerned and unhelpful. Find another pulmonologist even if have to go to Lakeland.

Very poor patient relations. Difficult to reach, and very poor patient relations skills. Three visits before even spoke to the doctor. Last visit sat for 2.5 Hrs. and then told he left the building. I had to return for third time to complete the prerequisite for sleep study. Billed twice when first study did not go well. Now being sent to collections for what I believe should not have been billed do to poor patient services. I would not recommend this doctor.

Never gotten real relief for my sleep issues. Dont think he is very qualified for narcolepsy issues. Finding a new doctor that is a sleep specialist.

Awesome Dr. Staff was even better best sleep techs ever!!
