Dr. Beitsch studied at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. Following an internship and residency in general surgery at UT Southwestern, Dr. Beitsch completed a National Cancer Institute fellowship at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston as well as a surgical oncology fellowship at the John Wayne Cancer Institute in Santa Monica, California. Dr. Beitsch is an ASBS certified breast ultrasonographer and is an American College of Surgeons breast ultrasound faculty instructor. Board certified in general surgery; Dr. Beitsch is in practice at Medical City Dallas Hospital. He has been local chairman of the Breast Cancer Detection Committee of the American Cancer Society and he has received their "Caring Spirit" Award because of his commitment to breast cancer prevention and treatment. He also received the Macys "Heart and Soul" Award for his work with the YWCA Breast Cancer Detection Project and the Founders Award of the Bridge Breast Program. He is a fellow of …the Society of Surgical Oncology, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons where he is active in breast cancer research placing hundreds of women into cutting edge studies.

Recently changed to Dr. Beitsch, and I am happy. Pleasant staff, very nice facility (and easy to get to), and Dr. Beitsch has a great bedside manner - explains the facts and treats you like an adult, but remains friendly and encouraging. We have a plan, and I am confident he's advising me well. Highly recommended.

WE felt very confident that Dr.Beitsch would do his very best to treat my husband's Melanoma.Unfortunately it spread to his lungs. The doctor did his best. I would highly recommend him.we should have gone to a doctor sooner.Im sure it would have turned out differently.

As a healthcare professional I am very particular about who I choose in my journey through cancer. Peter Beitsch and the Dallas Surgical Group staff exemplify what is good in healthcare. His training At M.D. Anderson Cancer Center gives me the peace of mind to know his training. Highly recommend this group.

I am in the health care business. So I know. He has helped me for the lat 2-3 years with my breast issues. His office is prompt to respond to any concerns. His nurse navigator is one of the best I have dealt with.

I found Dr. Beitsch and his staff to be very professional and helpful. This was my second opinion and Dr. Beitsch explained everything to me in a way that I understood. His staff was very helpful. If I ever get cancer again......( hopefully, I won't ) Dr. Beitsch is my guy!!!!
