Dr. Peter Joel Berkowitz, MD

Dr. Berkowitz was very rough and used injections on the side of my eye and below my eye which I now hear is no longer standard procedure . After surgery my eye was very bruised and my vision is blurry. It has been 10 days since surgery and my vision still not right. He gives no explanation for any of these problems I was a perfect candidate no health problems not overweight no diabetes and low blood pressure. Still don’t know what went wrong and he is not telling

He is a competent doctor, but after years of putting up with his terrible bedside manner I have decided to move on. He does not listen, does not care about your concerns related to your own care and becomes angry when you attempt to ask a question or take extra time to respond. He has openly complained about money and costs of overhead. He complained about hospital equipment during a procedure I had. It was very uncomfortable to hear while your eyes where being lasered. Unless you have no need for simple kindness I would not recommend him.

Knows ophthalmology backwards and forwards; excellent ophthalmologic skills. Otherwise, he's a complete jerk: rude, abrupt, arrogant, ill-mannered. Doesn't say "Hello," won't look you in the eye (which is somewhat ironic). If he were the only game in town, I'd say, "See him." But since he's not, don't.

Dr. Berkowitz walked into the exam room without saying hello or looking at me. Bedside manner was one of the worst I have experienced, and I work with doctors everyday. I was hesitant to ask any questions. He was unfriendly, and I would NOT recommend him. I will not be going back.

I had a very bad and rapidly worsening cataract but my former doctor couldn't fit me into his surgical schedule for 3 months. Fortunately I found Dr. Berkowitz and he came to my rescue. Seeing how serious my cataract was, and the risk of delay, he operated the following week. The surgery went well and after Dr. Berkowitz did the second eye my vision is better than ever. Dr. Berkowitz is an excellent doctor and I liked his caring and reassuring manner. Also his staff is first rate and always made me feel comfortable.

Dr, Berkowitz has been my Cornea doctor since 1991. Through the use of special contact lenses he has slowed/stopped the rpogression of my Keratakonis in bot of my eyes. Thanks to him I do not need corneal transplants (yet). he is an artist when it comes to fitting contact lenses. Dr. Berkowitz is ACES in my book!

I WAITED A LONG TIME TO HAVE MY CATARACTTAKEN CARE OF (I MEAN A LONG TIME).DR BERKOWITZ WAS GREAT. HE EXPLAINEDEVERTHING TO ME TOOK GREAT CARE OFME BOTH IN HOSPITAL AND OFFICE. HE ISVERY VERY THROUGH. THAT WAS MY SECONDCATARACT SURGERY WITH HIM. I NOW HAVE20/20 VISION IN ONE EYE AND 20/30 IN THE OTHER. YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER DOCTOR. DR BERKOWITZ AND HIS STAFF ARETOPS!

Dr. Berkowitz was great with my elderly father. took his time to explain to me and my father in a way that we could understand Dr. Berkowitz is not just a 6 to 10 min doctor. I recommend him Highly

after 1&1/2 years of treatment, i find that my road to recovery is almost completed. Dr. B was able to save my eye from severe infection and in process of complete restoration. I owe him much. Thank you Dr. B

This was a great exam. Dr. Berkowitz is fast. He is, however, polite, caring, listened to everything I said or asked, and answered my questions. My previous ophthalmologist talked a lot about himself and didn't listen. Fast and pertinent is much better than superficial and meaningless. My time is valuable and I appreciate Dr. Berkowitz's professionalism and expertise. I feel fortunate to have access to this level of healthcare.
