Dr. Peter B Brett, MD

In May of 2016 I was admitted to Sutter Hospital with a fever of 105.6. I had previously been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2013 and had been a patient of Dr. Eric Dean and then briefly with another staff Oncologist, after Dr. Dean's departure. That gap created a problem for me as I was not being taken seriously as to my new condition, i.e., continuous fevers spikes, a horrific rash, weight loss, for close to a month, as well as not reading my PET Scan accurately, which eventually led to my 3 1/2 week hospitalization. Fortunately for me and my family it was Dr. Peter Brett's weekly rotation time at the hospital. He studied my history started me on the "correct" chemotherapy, and worked with the hospital doctors and infectious disease staff to figure out what was causing the fevers. Which, thank heavens they finally did. I requested that Dr. Brett be my assigned Oncologist and Hematologist after my hospital stay, which he has been since that time. Due to my… very complicated history of my cancer transforming and a disease caused by the cancer, and his relentless study of my case, I was able to become a candidate for a stem cell transplant at Stanford, which thankfully was successful! This is the Doctor Brett that I know, not how he is being portrayed in the Press Democrat and the defamation of character lawsuit. All I know is that he is a brilliant, caring Doctor, who saved my life. I also know in my heart that anyone who has been treated by Dr. Brett is fortunate. Dr Brett is caring, a good listener, and very responsive to my concerns. I feel that he is a decent human being, but is a near perfect doctor for me and my leukemia.

Dr. Brett is an excellent Oncologist. I have followed him when he switched to Sutter Health because he has given me such great care. He has been my oncologist for over 10 years. I credit him with keeping me alive. He is a caring person and takes great interest in all his patients. If you are looking for an oncologist I strongly recommend that you meet with Dr. Brett. I was referred to Dr. Brett by by one of the best hematologists in the United States. I can not speak highly enough about Dr. Brett and his staff.

With the departure of my first oncologist, surgeon and 2 nurse practitioners Dr. Brett agreed to take me as a transfer patient. He spent a lot of time reviewing my case and communicating the status of my breast cancer. I particularly appreciate Dr. Brett's listening skills and caring manner. Leaving his office I felt reassured and confident that I'm on the right track with my cancer treatment.

Dr.Brett was my blood doctor from 2001 to 2004. He is one of the best doctors I've ever dealt with.

A very competent and thorough physician. He does not stop jhis investigation until he knows exactly what is happening from a medical view point. I consider myself lucky to have the services of this great doctor!
