We love how he connected with our child, making sure to communicate and ask what hurts and how he feels. He is very professional and informative. He made sure we understood everything, from his medicines to what we could expect. What to look out for, etc. He is excellent and we are so blessed to have him as our doctor.

After not being able to diagnose my child in 2011 he followed his lack of knowledge up with doing a steroid injection into fatty tissue rather than a joint. Now it’s 2018 she still has a hole in her knee from the fat atrophy it caused. Thank god for the orthopedic surgeon who knew what he was doing and told us to get out of Indianapolis and find a rheumatologist elsewhere. The new rheumatologist had a diagnosis on the first visit

My 16 year old daughter had an appointment with Dr. Chira, from the moment he entered the room he did not acknowledged me at all. Throughout the entire visit he only spoke to my daughter, never once asked if I had any concerns or questions, never once made eye contact with me, as if I was invisible. I also work for Rady Children's Hospital and understand the importance of Dr patient interaction but to completely ignore a parent is unexceptionable. I finally introduced my self, verbalized my concerns regarding the diagnosis he was ruling out. He answered me the minimum possible and again redirected his attention to my daughter. I decided to schedule an appointment with another physician for a second opinion.

The worst doctor possible! At the start of the appointment he treated me with rudeness and had no manners at all. Did not take my symptoms seriously and treated me horribly. It was a waste of a doctors visit and his staff is incompetent to do its job. They were giving me false information about how to receive my lab results.

We seen Dr Chira earlier this month and I was shocked. I am a nurse and I have NEVER seen an MD spend so much time with a patient. He treated my child (11) as the patient. He spoke to her and explained things to her and me. If you ever need a peds rheumatologist he is the one I promise. HE called the following day and explained lab results to me himself.
