Dr. Peter Monaco Cimino, MD

Dr. Cimino has done both of my leg surgeries and they both have done great. Additionally, he treated the cause of my problem as well as the problem as opposed to just treating the problem itself. I had been to other Drs. that failed to do that.

When I went for my visit the front staff didn't seem that friendly, I wasn't told ahead of time that Dr. Cimino was behind (which is understandable) but I am in the waiting room uncomfortable and in pain not one person asked if I needed anything you could clearly see I was not good. I am a bigger person and there wasn't any seats for bigger people in this office anywhere. (I am sure I am not the only big person that has been in this clinic) The nurse I had seemed a little irritated. Dr. Cimino came in the room questioned me why I was overweight didn't address the reason I was there for really he had me walk not once did he examine me. Told me that he wouldn't be able to give me a cortisone shot as there isn't a needle long enough, and if I was to have surgery (which wasn't even a topic at that point at all) he couldn't do it as the instruments couldn't reach it. He said lets just see if it mends itself. Not cool I have had this going on for a couple of weeks at this time. I… left that office very discouraged, degraded, and upset, a waste of my time and money, not to mention I missed work as well. So I go to a different ortho dr. to get a different opinion. This Dr. was much better along with the staff they gave me the time of day and listened to me not once brought up my weight as an issue....here is the kicker he was able to give me a cortisone shot and had a needle that wasn't even the longest there was.

Dr.Cimino is a wonderful Dr. I had my right knee scoped with amazing results.I had a meniscus tear which he repaired. Then just a few weeks ago I had the left knee done. If your looking for a Dr.that addresses your pain and the best option for relief he is your best choice. He is honest,trust worthy, and has a great bed side manner. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Ciminio has no compassion for his clients. He does what workers comp wants which is gets clients off case load. He made my symptoms worse and I am still suffering from the source of the claim. I hope some day he can deal with a similar injury to his body so he can have the same problems I have and he can develop some compassion for his clients. I hope he has to deal with Dr's who say what workers comp wants them to and with case workers who are not intelligent and deny everything he says. Does Dr. Cimiono ever find for the patient? What I really like is that this never gets submitted to this reviewer page

great bedside manner

I went to see this guy to discuss surgical repair of a torn labrum. This diagnosis had been confirmed by a MRI done prior to this visit. I provided Dr. Cimino with the MRI disc as well as the written report. His position was that I didn't really need surgery- nevermind the fact that I am incredibly active (this was a gym injury) and was being all but completely sidelined due to the tear. He did say that he would "go in and poke around, and maybe clean something up" if I'd like. I followed up with a PA buddy of mine familiar with Dr. Cimino- he said that he did me a favor. I found Dr. Cimino to be overall incredibly obtuse. Needless to say I have a consult scheduled with an actual orthopedic surgeon.

Dr. Cimino does not like you to ask questions about his diagnosis. In fact, he acts like you don't have the right to. I went in for aching knees, and after x-rays, which I wasn't shown, was told I needed to have my leg removed and straightened because it was bowed. Again, without showing me the x-ray. I was told I had osteo-arthritis and it wasn't worth doing orthoscopic surgery. He is rude and his bobble-head interns are afraid to do anything but agree. If it quacks like a duck...

My primary care doctor referred me to him for a tumor on my thigh. Cimino came to my hospital room and proceed to tell me how he would remove my leg up to the hip then fit me for a prosthetic leg. He was cold and matter of fact. After my mini breakdown we sought a second opinion and I had surgery by Dr. Michael McGuire (my HERO), who removed an 8 lb liposarcoma and saved my leg!

Went for lower back pain. order an x-ray even though I said nothing that would indicate I had skeletal damage. I hurt my back stretching. Gave me a backbrace, no instructions, said I need to lose 40lbs. i am 5'11, 270 pounds, 37" waist. Finally got another doctor to order MRI, I have a ruptured disk. Not much of a problem with Cimino for not diagnosing problem, just lack of explaination of anything like how and when to were back brace. Also assigning physical therapy without having problem diagnosed. Since I went to two sessions of therapy, symptoms are worse. Thanks Doc
