I was the wife along with my 80+ year old husband. Doc talked to me too not only "the patient." That is rare. Got good advice. new meds no surgery His sense of humor a bit quirky but that is fine when it comes to pee troubles!

Dr. Colegrove is rude, impatient, and very flip. He freely complained about my primary doctor passing off work to him when she was merely deferring to him for a recommendation. He also got curt with me when I sent him a message that asked "20 minutes" worth of questions. He suggested I get a second opinion from one of his partners who he told me would call. I received a call one week later and the appointment got all screwed up. I went to Northwestern and found a Urologist who provided me with a far more thorough opinion and one that was contrary to what Dr. Colegrove prescribed.

Uninformed. Unhelpful. The NS after hours system is broken. After calling 4 times for a followup appt with Dr Smith, who returned none of the pages, Dr Colegrove called. 10 hours after my first call. He had nothing to say other than that Dr Smith was NOT in town, NOT on call. Colegrove offered no advice other than returning to the ER, which discharged me with several rx. I will certainly not seek further care from this team.

I just started seeing Dr Colegrove because I had a high PSA score. I needed a biopsy which Dr Colegrove performed. While no one would enjoy a prostate biopsy, he was great! He put my mind at ease and we got through the procedure quickly. I would highly recommend him

I had an emergency kidney stone at Highland Park Hospital. Dr. Peter Colgrove performed surgery in the hospital, but left more than half of the stone attached to my kidney from which I continued to have problems during the duration of a scheduled trip. He failed to remove the stone when he had the opportunity and told me to come back after my 3 week trip for an X-ray to see if was gone. It wasn’t. He misdiagnosed the type of stone that was attached to my kidney. After finding out that the stone was still significant and still attached to my kidney, Dr. Colgrove could not find the time to remove the stone for nearly a month, because the surgery room was busy and told me to find another doctor if I wanted it removed earlier. I did and had it removed within a few days at a different hospital, Rush University Hospital. Otherwise I would have waited almost another month for the removal of the stone. I would never recommend this doctor, because he was not responsible and had no sympathy for… the patient. I found out that the surgery room was not the problem, he was the problem due to his own schedule.

Performed 1 test procedure, promised discussion of possible options once test results were in, never followed up. I had to call for results, left MANY messages and he never called back. It's been over a month and I'm still waiting for test results. This is just unacceptable!

Dr. Colegrove called me himself to give me my diagnosis. I asked all of my questions to him and not some nurse. He was always on time, professional, helpful and his staff are fantastic. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

This is a question Dr., My Father (85) was recently instructed by you to remove his own catheter at home. He was advised to be sure to do this in the a.m. in case he caused damage and could then come and see you in emergency mode. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Having spoken to several medical professionals each of whom heard this with alarm, asserting the damage a man this age, this frail with a fractured pelvis , a man almost entirely immobile for a month and a half, could do to his bladder could be life threatening. With scant instruction you sent him home to perform this procedure. You have since recommended he do this twice a day. We will be in touch Dr. His regular physician was also unable to hide her alarm at this instruction. I'm alarmed on a number of levels, not the least of which that someone has to award you even 1 star just to write a review here. I wonder , do you read these reviews Dr.? Is there somewhere you'd rather be Dr.? Something you'd rather be doing?

He doesn't care about his patience
