Dr. Peter G Copithorne, MD

Both his staff and he are the worst I've ever met. After my primary made the referral, I didn't hear anything for two weeks (I expected they would call to schedule the appt). Finally called their office and found out they scheduled me for an appt without checking if I was available or telling me. And they couldn't see me for more than 4 weeks (regarding an acute injury). They told me I would need to get x-rays when I arrived and I told them I had already had x-rays done by my primary and gave them the information for how to get copies of the x-rays. I also informed them (later) of the MRI I had done two weeks ago. I show up at the appt. and they tell me they need to take x-rays. I tell them there are already x-rays, I told them 4 weeks ago (and I'm not paying for another set due to their screw up!). They tell me the doctor can't do anything for me without the x-rays. The nurse leaves, Copithorne storms in, tells me he can't help me without the x-rays, I re-iterate it was his staff's… screw up, I told them 4 weeks ago to get copies of the x-rays! He is then belligerent and hostile for the rest of the meeting, dismissive, condescending, kept cutting me off when I tried to speak, and when he deigned to actually examine me he was needlessly rough (my right knee had dislocated that morning and I was in excruciating pain which he completely ignored and appeared to be trying to exacerbate). He offered me no options for pain management or temporary measures to keep my kneecap in place, or anything. I had to take a half day off work and so did my husband (to drive me) for nothing. This "doctor" wasted no only that day, but the 4 weeks leading up to this appt. I could have used to see someone more competent. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this guy. Stay far away!

Dr. Copithorne has replaced 2 of my knees. Both surgeries were very successful. He answered all of my questions before and after surgery. His entire team is top notch.

I felt as if the doctor did not believe me and did not appreciate the pain I told him I had . No attempt on his part to empathize with my situation. No suggestions on how to combat the pain just a comment that it would eventually go away. Told me to just deal with it.
