Meet Dr. Eisenhardt
Dr. Eisenhardt grew up in Poughkeepsie, New York. He attained his undergraduate degree at Georgetown University and his dental degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. After graduation he entered the United States Navy initially completing a one year General Practice Residency Program at Camp Pendleton, California. His Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training was completed at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia. After his second two year tour on a Nimitz class aircraft carrier he returned to Portsmouth as an Attending Surgeon. Dr. Eisenhardt completed his Navy career serving as the Head of the Dental Department and Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at both Naval Hospital Okinowa, Japan and Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. He retired from the Navy with the rank of Captain in 2002 and moved to Charlottesville to begin private practice.
Dr. Eisenhardt is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of …Anesthesiology. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He is a member and past-president of the Charlottesville Albemarle Dental Society. He holds hospital privileges at Martha Jefferson Hospital.
Dr. Eisenhardt’s practice includes the removal of teeth including wisdom teeth, dental implant placement, bone grafting, management of dental infections and orthognathic surgery. Throughout his career he has lectured to various naval and civilian organizations.
He has been married to his wife, Anne, a retired navy nurse, for twenty-five years. They have a daughter, Jennifer, who is currently attending James Madison University. He enjoys traveling, reading and golf.
